Why must we be child-like to be playful, enjoy some toys, go explore nature in building rock formations or whatever? There's nothing in the definition of adult, the way I see it, that says it can't involve having fun. And it isn't childish or child-like to play, or have fun, either. The toys used, the methods of play, that can be child-like. Crayons and coloring books, sand-pit toys, kiddie-pools, and toy soldiers are child-like playing. But adults do lots of adult-like playing too! Sailing, rock climbing, wrestling, writing, drawing, singing, dancing... Sex, of course.
I honestly do think that having fun and playing are critical and necessary parts of life, as critical to a human's wellbeing as healthy food, pure water, clean air.
