Peanut is right. I believe I now have the mystery of where the monster's money went, solved! I, being the genuinely nice person I am, had chalked it up to the couch eating it! I also kept having an issue with everytime I would buy a new bra it would disappear... sigh I finally returned her text to tell her I couldn't believe she thought I was so dumb that I would believe that my ring jumped out of my jewelry box and onto her finger, and if she truly had an identical ring the only way I was going to believe it was if she produced it for me to see. If not, lose my number, and do not use me as a job reference. Her reply completely avoided producing the ring, and was more BS. Hopefully I will not have to have a new Assistant for him since I will not be working.

This whole situation sucks. And she's put you in a very bad position since I presume you like her parents and don't want to hurt them, but you also know she is a thief, and will do it again. Definitely tell the person you gave the reference to the entire story. You don't have to say she stole it, but anyone hearing the entire story would have to believe she did. I also think you should call the police. This doesn't sound like it's her first rodeo.

i agree with Blushes. Plus, action on your part might stop her from doing it to someone else.

I told the people I had referred her to. I consider them to be very good friends. The reaction I got.... "I don't believe you. We love ****." WTF? Um hello? I love her, too, enough to trust her with my monster! She basically confessed and returned my property (later in text messages she is now saying I'm sorry and I promise I'll never ever do it again please forgive me). The point is I just feel I need to make you aware because I had recomended her and you are thinking of having her help with your autistic child. I don't want you to get involved. I'm not asking you to not be her friend, or say anything to me or her. He says "Nobody steals from me". Yeah, ok, well I tried. WTFever!
