I hope gold drops $200 fast.    I just got my tax refund and want to buy.

They are talking about raising the retirement age NOT cutting existing benefits hunk.  And considering that retirees are the largest block of voters AS well as have the biggest lobby on capital hill, no congressman or President for that matter would think of making such cuts.

No congressman or president that supported such moves survived for very long, and Sen. McCain when he ran for President campaigned for Social Security reform and look what happened to his bid.

It was bush who nationalized the banks and AIG and used US taxpayer dollars to bail them out.

He didnt veto it, that is the only sense in which it was Bush who nationalized them. And a veto would have easily been overridden.

As I said, you dont have the ability nor want to understand.

Thats odd.   I have a 4 year degree.

Good for you. Based on your posts here, your next degree will be in basket weaving.

Good.  You are educated.   Basically you have no complaints with this private central bank.  When are you finally going to pay YOUR are of the national debt?

I pay a lot more of it than you do. but it wont be as big an issue when the Roberts court starts to shoot down Obama's overreaches.

Dumping COLAS for 3 years is a short change.

Check out the planned increase of postage.

Enter electric rate increase,  gas increase, water  increase, phone service increase, insurance costs increase, and tax bill increase.

I just got my property tax bill.   That went up.

But consider postage stamps,  consider that congress itself got a COLA.   Note that goldman sachs got numerous bonuses.  And a bail out.

So the dollar is worth .03.  per the 1913 federal reserve.

Funny thing tho-   find a quarter in the couch from 1963-  that same quarter buys the same amount of goods it did- from the day it was in circulation.   Isnt that amazing?

Back then- a quarter bought a loaf of bread.

Today- its silver content will buy you- a loaf of bread.

The Treasury secretary revealed that about 75 per cent of the cash received by the likes of Bank of America, Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley under the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) has been already paid back.
It is hard to understand why you did not know this little tidbit hunky, or did you just ignore the facts as usual?

It is funny that somebody believes a word Mr. Geithner says. It is just a common fraud, an accounting scam designed to let his friends to pay themselves huge bonuses.
Here is the detailed explanation:

Amazing? Not really. If you had invested that quarter in the S&P 500 in 1963, today you would have $25.00 and could buy 8 or more loaves of bread.

If it is such a success why does Bloomberg have to sue under FOIA to try to get the info.?

If everything is on the up and up- then we should have disclosure.

What we have tho it- an economy that values gamblers- over producers.

Then why are foreclosures running at a high level?

Surely the others might have invested in stocks.  Why are so many in California and in Florida now living in tent cities?

Why do 300 people show up when one job opening is advertised?

Why are houses simply not selling?

Why are less then 3% planning to buy a new car?

Guess what...those who held on to their 1963 quarters havent bought a house or a car for years. :)

What makes you think I had $30,000-$100,000 to invest in anything when I was in college?

Interesting related quote from the article:

Graduate salaries are frozen at an average of £25,000, the first time in the survey's history that starting salaries have remained stagnant for two consecutive years. But there is some positive news; the survey noted a revival in banking, the insurance sector and accountancy where vacancies were predicted to rise this year.

The financial service sector is blooming. Debt collectors with PhD-s, I guess.

I've never read what Chapman has said but quite often during the better part of the past year I have watched Glen Beck hold up a red telephone and heard him invite anyone at the White House to call him during his tv show and refute anything he has said...to no avail.

Why in God's name would anyone in the White House lend credibility to a carnival sideshow clown like Beck?
