"NASA Administrator Charles Bolden said in a recent interview that his "foremost" mission as the head of America's space exploration agency is to improve relations with the Muslim world"

Yeah, this link is at Fox; the same quotes are available many other places.

I understand it's another 28 months before we can give 0bama0 his marching orders; but isn't there some way to fire this assclown now?

Owner59 -> RE: Hopey changey dhimmitude (7/7/2010 8:05:41 AM)

And improved relations is not good how?

truckinslave -> RE: Hopey changey dhimmitude (7/7/2010 8:26:19 AM)

Anyone who seriously believes that improved relations result from groveling is a fool.

Anyone who thinks that NASA should engage in kowtowing is a fool.

I think you're all kind of being foolish, really.

There is a difference between working on relations with the Muslim world and bowing down in submission.  -Laughs.-  I think that when we cross the line from working on relations to bowing down, we will have issues.  We can work together with the Muslim world, though.  I'm pretty sure we can, at least.

Absolutely we can work together with the Muslim world. As long as we submit to sharia law.

Master Ron, not to derail this thread... but.. why do you have an ice cream cone?

mnottertail -> RE: Hopey changey dhimmitude (7/7/2010 11:29:45 AM)

because I am nilla

Moonhead -> RE: Hopey changey dhimmitude (7/7/2010 11:32:22 AM)

"Muslim world."
You're okay being lumped in with all of the Marxist liberals in western Europe, then? You know, the types who are into social security systems that actually work and a public provision that pays for medical fees out of a tax? Gun control, publically owned industries, controls on the media, like that.
There's a lot more of that in the "Christian world" than there are nations which appear to think that Horatio Alger was writing manifestos not fiction and the unsuccessful should be left to starve to death in the gutter, after all.

I certainly don't believe this unless saw a clip with those words coming out of his mouth. Being from Fox of course peaks everybody's interest because the line in Vegas is 5-1, it's a lie.

Ok, I went to youtube and of course as I am not surprised...he said that was only a part of his mission, not his FOREMOST mission.

Fox did say though we have a real heat wave in the NE for which we can surely blame Obama. I'd rather think it was all of the partisan hot air finally trapped in...we are all doomed I tell you.

I was originally just going to snark and ask if space muslims use suicide rockets but...I actually kinda think this is an excellent idea. The Arab world kept Greek learning alive and built on it exponentially when Europe was in its dark ages, now it seems large portions of the Arab world are in the dark ages and IMO they need to rediscover their roots as the "cradle of civilization."

mnottertail -> RE: Hopey changey dhimmitude (7/7/2010 11:51:01 AM)

Sam Nunn

When they weren't burning libraries and killing scholars who refused to convert after the collapse of the eastern Empire, of course.

True but by the 13th century Europe was beginning to get its shit together, and after the actual collapse of the empire in the 15th century Europe was on it's feet again, what with the colonization and all. Which they probably wouldn't have been able to do without gunpowder and pro navigation and stuff.

Moonhead -> RE: Hopey changey dhimmitude (7/7/2010 12:26:08 PM)

Inarguably, but I do find all of this talk about the Ottoman empire preserving culture from the savage barbarians in Europe hilarious when one of the ways they did that was burning the library at Alexandria because if anything stored there agreed with the prophet then it was redundant and if it didn't then it was a lie.
There's also plenty of other sources for navigation besides the Moors. Most of Scandinavia was doing very well with that even during the Dark Ages, after all.
As for gunpowder, didn't the eastern empire get that one from China in its death throes, along with silk, and then pass it on to the Turks? There's very little evidence that one was a Turkish invention, despite a few extravagant claims to the contrary.

That is because they practice circumcision on their males. In a couple of centuries the USA will be in their own dark ages as well, unless the USA population stops their own practice of circumcision.

Einstein and Freud were both circumcised, old boy. You'd need a good argument that (say) Jonathan Miller or Jack Kirby were intellectually inferior because they never dripped on their shoes after taking a piss as well.
