Yeah.. it is now the arm pit of the NBA.

Poor Cleveland?

no surprise they make stupid choices and put it all on one player instead of building a strong team

You know in the 15 years since "The Move", Art has not come back to the city of cleveland? We're still ready to lynch his ass. Queen james better have a shitload of security when the heat rolls into town

Come on, can't blame him, the Cavs are a sinking ship, he was carrying the team

youngsubgeoff -> RE: Where Does Labron Land???? (7/8/2010 7:33:59 PM)

Fuck off. We're gonna win without him.

Love your tram spirit but how far did you get without him? I don't blame the team but management has made some terrible decisions

youngsubgeoff -> RE: Where Does Labron Land???? (7/8/2010 7:41:34 PM)

yeah but we've got a shitload of cap space now. we'll find some new guys

zephyroftheNorth -> RE: Where Does Labron Land???? (7/8/2010 7:45:01 PM)

Provided that management makes good decisions, sure. I feel for you, the management is a bunch of idiots. The team does what it can but their hands are tied

Pretty much all of the stud free agents are gone, so y'all better keep that cap space for next year. Gonna be rough.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Where Does Labron Land???? (7/8/2010 8:08:26 PM)

Wow, I know the *name* Lebron James, but that is all. I can't imagine getting this excited over anything sports-related.

So, can someone give me a one liner, as to Wha? And why are we mad? So I don't look out of the loop!

KatyLied -> RE: Where Does Labron Land???? (7/8/2010 8:11:47 PM)

He is the marquee player of the NBA, that means he is way important.
Sports are some people's hobbies.  I am dating a guy who is literally driving me around the bend with his love of MLB, he watches the Pirates (a horrid team, going back many years), and complains about how much they suck.  If they aren't on he will watch any team, does not matter.  I laugh and ask "are the Yankees playing?"  He indulges me when I say things like "hello Mr. Jeter, Sir".  So it all works out well for us.

came4U -> RE: Where Does Labron Land???? (7/8/2010 8:13:16 PM)

Gretzky left our country and never got this much slack.

I guess hockey just might be more of a gentleman's sport afterall :P

*but with more yummy blood [:D]

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Where Does Labron Land???? (7/8/2010 8:15:28 PM)

Yes, I knew he played basketball!! (do I get a bonus point? [;)])

No one in our household was ever a sports fan, my TV addict dad will TURN IT OFF rather than watch even a hockey game. I know enough about all the sports to be able to follow the game if I have to watch it, but I don't follow the teams or the players at all. It seems like the "drafts" are entirely about money and politics and very little about the talent of the players, so meh.

The last time I watched sports regularly was with H, a Virginia Tech guy. A young man named Michael Vick was a fantastic athlete, very up and coming.

KatyLied -> RE: Where Does Labron Land???? (7/8/2010 8:17:59 PM)

Michael Vick tossed it all away, but don't worry, his apologist (Tony Dungy) will take care of it.

He is the one that many feel is the new Michael Jordan. He isn't, not quite, but he has phenomenal talent.

It is so funny, because he hates The Yankees and thinks they represent everything that is wrong with MLB.  On the other hand, I am of the opinion that the problem lies in MLB, not in teams with huge markets who can afford to buy talent.  shrug.

Katy, I just read Moneyball, which looks at how the A's managed to do so well, on such a small budget. Good book, your Mr Jeter might like it [;)] or, it might make him despair even more, seeing how much the Pirates struggle.

KatyLied -> RE: Where Does Labron Land???? (7/9/2010 3:49:43 AM)

I should read that book for myself, I know so little about baseball.  And fans are always making the excuse that the Pirates suck because they refuse to spend money on talent (or trade talent away), sounds like a good read.

Jeffff -> RE: Where Does Labron Land???? (7/9/2010 3:51:40 AM)

The Pirates suck because Lebron left Ohio.

Also, the economy will continue to lag because of Lebron.

Level -> RE: Where Does Labron Land???? (7/9/2010 4:17:52 AM)

Lebron caused the oil spill in the gulf.

Katy, it is a terrific read, made me laugh out loud more than once, and I recommend it.

Exept Gretzky got traded, LeBrown punked out and left.

LH, its a Cleveland thing. He grew up here, played here, said he wanted to stay here, then punked out on us. We offered him more money than anyone else out there, including Miami, but he's going there because of his friends.

I hope he gets that ring, so he can realize how hollow it really is.

The yankees ARE everything thats wrong with MLB. They buy all the best players instead of growing they're own like most teams do, the new yankee stadium is a pile of shit, and they're star player is a disrespectful, overrated roid freak.
