Yess, in as much as any volunteering is legal.
Are you asking more that some activities were not negotiated, merely assumed and now it doesn't feel right to you?
Even 'slaves' have choice.  .. of course they might choose not to obey & that might negate the contract they agreed to, but again, that would depend on what they wanted to have happen in the first place and what provisions they asked for.
Communication is critical.

Many service submissives tell Me that their need to help in any way is a primal urge in what 'makes' them a submissive - To Serve - is their honor.
I have been pleased to assist in this, indeed, I make it very clear that a variety of service is what I enjoy.

Well, its legal as long as they don't complain now isn't it?

If they were to get angry or end the relationship and they worked in your business they could have a legal case to sue you for back pay.

But the 13th amendment of the US constitution outlawed slavery except as a punishment for a crime though that is never followed. So no, slavery is not legal in the USA.

What two consenting adults do together is largely ignored until one of them (or some nosy person) complains.

Depends on the laws in your particular venue, but overall... yes, it's perfectly legal because it's consensual.
If one wants to begin hair-splitting and *finding* broken laws, there are more than plenty.
But the same is true in a number of relationships, not just D/s.

this thread could go on for 20 pages & you won't find a better reply than this...

ahhh....ya......use me for your pleasure sound close?

it's a matter ,of degree and consent ;
sometimes even a written or verbal contract, that needs to be renewed;
if you live together;special considerations are made;
i know all i make would be for HER ,as long as SHE'S happy; i am, but, i better be,
SO TO SPEAK....
i'm ,not number 2 slave;
FUNDING AND ,OR building ,installations, for other slaves,in my place;
i'm ,not a sucker;so my money means treat me ,as one who takes care ,of his mistress,or mistresses;
its "mutual respect";value each other,ESPECIALLY IMAGE-WISE
but, what, if i have NOTHING,to, offer ,or give ?!,
then who the heck is happy?!;
nobody!
esp.not me;
even in a straight -suc and f' -t and a -vanilla- missionary -all the non-deviant - TRA-LA-way;
don't you STILL give your all?!
you're a top ,and, also using all your brains, too,with the slave material;
FURTHERMORE:isnt it natural;an unspoken residual rule;that
you always give all to the other ,to the point of sacrifice?
however; don't "slavery" make money,tho?;
it's such an old money maker;
it's as old as the hills;
and ,still to this day ;slavery is an institution;EMBARASSING ,OR NOT;
"SLAVERY"
;makes mega-millions;even billions
,ie:for Hollywood....
don't kid yourself;
if the line is'nt crossed;
it would have been
 a. o. k.,
but ,when ,that line is crossed;
such, as killing someone;
making tops bottoms;
hostile take-overs ,....etc.
,then forget it ;
war ,
and ,all bets are off ,and ,
trust me ;there's no bloodier war, than a war with a 'crusader -IE:'like a slave crusading for a top,
or a top crusading for a bottom;
especially, in a worshiping, so called very pure relationship,
so :
you two know what's solid;more than anyone else .
