Thankyou OsideGirl.  Its interesting that one sees the collar as demeaning and another sees it as a beautiful symbol.  Perhaps it depends on the type of collar, whether it is leather or a metal ?
We have both. A metal Eternity Collar and a leather collar (which was the first he gave me).

First of all, a collared, defined by Daddy and I, is akin very much to a wedding ring.  It is the step right before marriage to us.  We don't believe in online collars or consideration collars or protection collars or anything that's temporary. We also believe that it is the part of the slave to present her Master with the collar, and His final choice to accept and collar her.  It is a reminder to both girl and Master that she came willingly and lovingly into His pack, and offered herself to Him.

I don't know what you feel a collar is or should be, but that's what we believe.  I've experienced too much heartache and seen too much heartache to believe anything different.  I've had collars used against me or held over my head when I wasn't fully aware of who and what I was.  When I was still new to this entire lifestyle.

I hope no one takes offense to this, by the way.  I am in no way trying to diminish or belittle your beliefs.  These are just mine.

As far as your paper itself?  Does He want it personal or more academic?  As with any paper, have an introduction, a body, and a conclusion.  Talk about your hopes and dreams concerning the collar.  Different types of collars.  What could be considered a collar.  What it means to you.

I have a collar to us it is a symbol of me being his girl. The collar he put around my heart is much stronger than anything he can put around my neck. I wear it 24/7 the only time i took it iff is when i had a chesr x -ray. Now i feel naked without it. To others it looks like a pretty necklace but we know what it means and that is all that matters.

As for your paper, what i do when i need to write one is just put all your thought on paper/computer. Don't try to edit or thinss like that, just get them down you can polish it up after you thoughts are down.

When I'm wearing the collar, I feel a mixture of humiliation and pride. It's humiliating to wear a hand me down from his dog. Granted, I did ask for a collar, and I was given a choice between the Georgia Tech or the Miller Lite collar or none at all. It reminds me of my place and the fact that I don't often get things exactly the way I want them. It's a source of pride that I'm the favorite of my non-monogamous partner. I'm a good girl. I do what I'm told. I'm pleasing to him and appreciated for it.

When I can't wear it, I sometimes feel a little forlorn and vaguely dissatisfied that I don't have one I can wear in public. Believe me, I've thrown out hints to no avail. *lol* I carry it in my purse. When I'm rummaging around in there, I might grab it by accident and be either pleasantly surprised or mildly embarrassed, depending on where I am.

Wearing or not wearing the collar has no effect on whether or not I forget instructions, feel submissive, etc. I was following instructions long before I got it. I'd be doing the same had he chosen not to give it to me.

Thankyou everyone for the comments so far.  The paper is meant to be my personal feelings on it, without my usual ramblings :)  We have discussed the topic a lot and now i just have to get these thoughts onto paper.

I loved having a collar the first time I was owned. The constricting sensation around my neck constantly reminded me of my status. Sometimes it embrassed me, but mostly it thrilled and comforted me. I experienced/visualized it as his two hands around my neck, sometime squeezing, sometimes not. That would make a lovely piece of jewelry could it be executed. Maybe in copper. I'd put the two thumbs right at the hollow where the pulse is...

Anyway, for a future relationship, a collar would be nice, but it wouldn't take anything away to not have it, too. I think that's because I'm aware of the non-visible connections, due to having prior experience with such. I don't mean anything spooky by that, I just mean the master-slave bond. If you're new to bdsm, it's a wonderful thing for your master or dominant to do for you, because it gives you something to focus your imaginiation, passion, and yearnings on. It reminds you of him... or her. Sure, it's "just" a symbol, but symbols are like... hm... teleporters? Elevators? They take human minds to places that it can be hard to go to without them. The phenomenal is the bridge to the real and all that jazz. And... if you aren't allowed to remove your collar or remove it without permission, that in itself is a very nice reminder of your place.

The physical collar means very little to me. It is the act of collaring and maintaining control of my existence that gives the collar its feeling.

Imagine, you agree to become collared so you can be led with your heart and mind in the direction specified by the dominant YOU chose. Sex organs come into play too but that is not important.

The end of my collared existence left me in a very awkward state so I have little experience with that. I know what I am not going to do again.

naptime now... maybe? sleep.

I don't remember where I saw it, and I've never seen a design online, but SOMEWHERE I saw on a woman in real life before a 'necklace' if you will where the loop was connected to the necklace in the middle. Basically the O-ring was firmer to the neck (roundabout where the Adam's Apple would be on a man), and it didn't dangle at all. It was held in place. In this case, it didn't look at all like a collar (to a vanilla), but it 'screamed' collar to me. It seemed perfect to wear in public and not be suspected by vanillas.

Alas, I only saw it the one time, and several jewelry sites I've searched have nothing of the sort.

Jeff

Are the pictures below what you describe above? If so, then have a look at this webste, and select the tab Steel O'Ring.

Quite clearly collars mean different things to different people.  I personally hold no store by a collar, but that does not negate the fact that I am in a committed long term BDSM relationship.

I also have a lot of trouble getting my thoughts onto paper, does anyone have any suggestions on how to help with this ?

Just sit down in a quiet place and write, write and write more. Write everything and anything that comes into your head regarding the subject.  Once you have a page or two read what you have written and make changes, and keep going with this process until you have a piece you are happy with.

Good luck!
