first ball gag - advice needed

I have just decided to buy my first ball gag, or something similar. :) As I have never tried anything before, I am looking for any type of advice you can give. 

I would like something that is:
- not stinky (obviously)
- that would not make my jaw hurt (in about 30-40 mins)
- does not make me dribbling saliva.
-does not cut the corner of my mouth
- easy to clean
- looks sexy :) (I would prefer red to go nicely with the rest of the stuff, but coour is not a priority)

I dont mind:
-if i could spit it out
- velcro

I have been loking around... so far i found this thing:

My only problem is that it does not realy look 'cool' once inserted in the mouth. I like the look of gag balls a lot better:) But I am not sure which would be the one best with these criteria.

Status: offline 		Not being gagged, I don't consider these points much, but the advice I'd give would be to establish a non-verbal "safe word" like moving in a certain way or blinking quickly.

Status: offline 		Thanks for the concern, it is already taken care of:) I am a researcher by nature, and I like to consider several aspects of things, and reserch stuff throughly before getting started with anything:)

Which is why I am here looking for advice too. :)

Status: offline 		I don't think you're going to find a ball gag that "looks cool", doesn't make you drool and won't at least make your jaw rather stiff after 30 minutes. Honestly I think the whole point to a ball gag is the opposite of looking cool and not drooling. Ball gags also don't do a hell of a lot to reduce sound/noise.

It's stinky if he's worn it on his head in the sun all day.
Makes my jaw hurt if he made it really tight.
Makes me dribble alllll over.
Cuts the corners of my mouth when it's nice and tight.
Goes right into the washer
Must look sexy to him because he gets nice and hard...

I have no desire to even try to spit it out.

It sounds like you've put some thought and research into this and probably already found the gag that you're looking for. I'll add that any gag you put in your mouth will make you salivate it's just a matter of swallowing instead of letting it build up which you may not do if you're sufficiently distracted, there's no real way around that. Panel gags (like the one you've picked) don't pull at the corners of you're mouth so generally they will be easier on your mouth than ball gags. And how long you can wear the gag will depend on your mouth size, a gag that's too big for one person to wear for very long will be perfect size for another.

It sounds like you're looking for alternatives so here's a couple of things to take a look at:

My girl tends to thrash and she has even managed to bite her own lip a couple of times when it's gotten between a gag strap and her teeth, so we've become big fans of panel gags. Sadly the site we used has gone downhill and I'd no longer recommend them. So all I can do is pull up a couple of sites that I do use and browse. These have rubber gags, I don't know if they are phthalate free, maybe some one around here will or it might be worth an email if one strikes your fancy:

Status: offline 		you mightwant to try a small dildo gag first, i would rather have a dildo gag in my mouth any day over a ball, gag, i also have trouble breathing, with a ball gag in my mouth, as for the pain, You take that for Your Mistress, or master.

Status: offline 		I don't know too much about gags but I did try a "beginner's breathable gag" first and it wasn't fun. It's got holes and so yeah I could breathe easily but yeah I also drooled sooooo bad. I like scarves best

The "penis" element allows me to stay focus on that which i serve (Cock --> Man --> Master) and the leather is wide enough to amply cover the mouth and keep me quiet.  

i've yet to have a ball gag used on me by Master that stiffled my vocals.

We have one like the three listed there. The gag ball is pretty comfy in the mouth, due to the little extra arm it's attached to (or however one would describe it). It sits further back in your mouth, this way, and your jaw is not open as wide. My only complaint, though, is that the panel section is really really stiff...really not pliable at all. If buckled loosely (so you can pretty much push it out), it's fine. If buckled tightly, the design just smashes against your lips in a very uncomfortable manner.

Status: offline 		If you want to be REALLY cheap, there's the old whiffle-golf-ball with a shoelace. They come in lots of colors. This works best if you have a fairly small mouth. If you use a fastener at the ends of the shoelace, the gag can be secured in a couple of seconds. You'll have no trouble breathing with one of these but you'll drool everywhere. You could also use a strap instead of a shoelace if you have one handy.

Another cheap trick with less drool factor is to use a high bounce ball made of hard rubber (aka "Superball") that you can get at any toy store for less than a dollar. There are hundreds of designs (for shits and giggles, try these). The translucent ones WITHOUT LIQUID should be ok. Do not use the pink ones. They come in different sizes, so choose one that you feel will fit well (1-3/4 inches should be good to start). Drill a hole in it (if the rubber comes off in chunks then throw it away, its no good for use as a gag) and use another shoelace or strap.

Clean thoroughly BEFORE and after use.

Status: offline 		You will not find a ball gag that doesn't make you drool when wearing it. Having said that, this is the best ball gag you can buy. The ball and underlying metal strap are coated in latex rubber. No cutting the corner of your mouth. Built very sturdy. They can be purchased at Madame S online. It looks orange in the pic - it is really bright red.

Not sure what you mean by "base of the post on the outside", but it does look just like those linked and pretty sure it came from stockroom. Maybe we just have funny shaped mouths?
