Sorry, I'll try to be more clear. I referred to the part you called the little extra arm as the post. The post widens out into the part I called the base, the part which is riveted to the leather. On mine that base sits on the other side of the leather so that the leather not the base is what touches the lips, I'm wondering if that's what's making the difference.
Ohh...gotcha...Ya, the leather is on the outside and the base of the post is on the inside, although there is an extra like foam-rubber type piece (the same size as the base) that slips over the base and sits against the lips. We might just have big teeth or something...or are kinda woosey.
