You mean all that good advice?...... apparently was able to sift through the half-thoughts to understand what I was trying to say? ............ and you're not even a .... a .... a REAL DOM? Seriously though, I see what you're saying about not wanting to be an avenue for a potentially horrendous outcome. I've never thought in those terms (ahhh, did I just learn something???lol ). I guess that's where 'insert communication here' would go? However, for me, I don't think that going through these types of experiences (let's leave off the word scene) is abusive at all.... its actually quite the opposite- the last one involving 112- 16/18 gauge piercing needles helped me to refocus & left me feeling VERY grounded. This was something I requested from my piercer (who is a Shaman) and I understand that not everyone is going to have that level of skill nor do I expect them to. I guess I simply havent found things (yet) that have that level of intensity. For now, I'm on my own but who knows that one day I wont find something with the right 'someone' that will very well supercede all of the experiences I have now. After all, I can't fathom what I could possibly be capable of with the right person. My mind may change 'eh? Perhaps that's why its very appropriate to say we're ever evolving- I think life circumstances/experiences have a way of changing what we believe ourselves to be sometimes. Respectfully, enthralled Actually, I don't think that experiencing 'edge-play' needs to be abusive but I do recognize that for some it is very close to abusive situations some have come from...an ever-shifting line... As for your experiences with a shaman, though I don't know his experience, I do know some needle play would enter into releasing chakra etc...(ok, put in your own terms here) releasing energy and might hover around the spiritual... One thing I do believe though, as far as intensity...that with the proper (for lack of better term) individual, very small, subtle experiences can hold just as much intensity as the edge play can...different types of intense perhaps, but very shaking. Namaste, C
