I have a video for you about the sky being blue. I have another one that clearly illustrates that you need to eat to live, I think it's from bumfucked Ethiopia or something. I've another that warns of the dangers of not breathing.
My friend, I know many have told you to get less radical, but didn't mean this. It seems we have pushed your pendulum too far. LOL (as in The Pit And The Pendulum of course) As someone who does not not use, therefore does not abuse pain killers this is painfully obvious to me. (pun anyone ?)
Momma taught me two things about drugs from a very early age, and that is probably why I am pretty much unaddictable.
Ma, it hurts "I bet, so don't do that again".
And then when the drug phase came into my life she said "Get as high or drunk as you want, but remember all of your problems are there the next morning and you've done nothing about it".
Drill that shit into your kid's heads from age zero and you might do well. But we are the lost generation. The point is that we must teach that pain is a part of life, and I don't mean the fun kind. Pain tells the mind to tell the body to send resources to the source of the pain. Who the fuck would be stupid enough to interfere with that ? You might as well rip out your own pancreas (while high oxycotin of course, and I did not say oxycodone). You won't feel a thing.
The fact is most painkillers prescribed today are sold to addicts for anyhwere from $3-85 per pill. This is nothing but drug abuse, but since it isn't pot or crack or whatever it seems to be socially acceptable.
Ma also said "We live in a drug oriented society". My friends, SHE SAID THIS IN ABOUT 1975 ! This was before direct advertising was allowed, she hasn't commented on the matter lately, we just know. And she is right.
The world does not owe you a pain free exisence. I have been shot in the face and turned down pain killers, right there on the way into the hospital. I didn't even want to go. All they really did was give me saline, removing the bullet was out of the question.
They had me on one of those rollaround things and I said STOP ! I got off it and walked into the hospital and said "I am walking into this motherfucker and I am walking out". Exact words, St John's hospital in Cleveland circa 1982. And when I walked in I said straight out that I will not consent to any pain killers or sedatives. I was bleeding down into my lungs and coughing up some nasty shit.
As I age my stance is getting more difficult to maintain. If I fall down a flight of stairs or something, what used to hurt for a day now hurts for a month. But so far so good.
Not long ago I did take a pretty bad fall. I had friends offering me anything I wanted. Perc, Darvs, even oxys. For free. And I turned them all down. I turned them down as easily as I turned down the vodka that was offered to me last night, and that was the night, MY night, Saturday night. When I don't want something I don't want it. That's it.
People bitch and moan about the drug industry all day long (except for Rush) but then go out and support that same industry every fucking day. It makes no sense to me at all. If you think they are so bad, don't take them. Tell the doc you don't want them, or if you are low on money bust the scrip and sell them. Wait, don't do that, it supports the "industry".
