You know, just for fun I went looking for ratings, and found that the cable news shows are pretty far down there in viewship. Yep, Fox cleans up especially on the opinion hours, but broadcast generally wins out (exact comparos are tough because because the age groups are not broken out the same.) Other cable programming does very well (apparently better than broadcast) but those stats are for all age groups. I'm using numbers from tvbythenumbers.com. I'd say that while there are diehard cable news viewers, they don't constitute a majority of the viewing public. Extrapolating cable news ratings (and their political leanings, perceived or otherwise) to the society at large may not be valid.

Sorry thornhappy, but if thats what you believe then you haven't been paying attention. That or your sympathy for your fellow progressives is blinding you to reality. I've called your friends on their behavior and even after consciously pointing it out to them they can't help themselves. They really think that their attacks on peoples character is as good as logically defending their ideology, it really seems pathological with the majority of them. Here I am now calmly discussing it with you, and there are several of my posts in this thread that aren't mimicking their behavior... where I'm just pointing out facts.
