Do you know what a Walnut Whip is?  You should be able to see one above this text.  It's a popular item of confection over here.  Chocolate, with a 'fondant' centre (I've never bothered to find out what 'fondant' is), and it has a walnut on the top.  Yes, it does indeed look like a used dick and this is what it's often called by women here in the UK - a Crusty Used Dick.

The last time I came across a discussion  about alpha/beta outside of these forums, it was during a programme aimed at the training of aspiring marketing executives.  They were sitting around a table, 'hot-shooting' ideas.  Fists were curled, nostrils were flared - these guys were thrusting.  Breathing was short and everyone had beads of sweat on their upper lips.  The hormones could have cracked my TV screen.  I was agog to find out what the hell they were talking about.  A cure for cancer?  A new train system that used no rails and ran on sunlight?

No.  It was all about a new wrapper for the Walnut Whip.   Men fighting over who'll be the great silverback Alpha, marching proud and erect into the CEO's office, bearing majestically above his head the winning proposal for a new wrapper for the Crusty Used Dick.

Even today, I still can't seem to find it in myself to see what those men were doing as anything other than a completely pointless, ridiculous waste of anyone's life.  *Sigh*.  Maybe I'm so far away from being an Alpha that I don't even merit a letter in the Greek alphabet. [:(]

Fondant is a firmer frosting type of mixture for cakes . It gets harder than normal frosting ..

domiguy -> RE: How do YOU define the term alpha male? (7/19/2010 12:49:51 PM)

Please defer your comments regarding fondant for elsewhere. this is firmly DC territory. Only a pussy would dabble into this topic without his consent.

Thank you for that info, loverly. :-)

I bet that is a wonderful sentiment.  I hate it that it makes no sense to me.

You know, you're not helping reverse the opinion of those of us that suspect "alpha" is often used to mean "inarticulate and a bit dim".

Peon,

This image is profound in all the wrong ways. And I'll admit that I didn't think it was edible. I've been on this site too long!

That's hot. I spent a lot of time grinning internally during meetings. The people watching was priceless. There was nothing funnier than coming up with the idea that eluded the frustrated, stealing a glance at ones watch, delegating and adjourning the meeting. The appalling deflation that followed was entertaining.

Omg. *cracks up* The Q & A that follows is hilarious. They typically put all their energy into coming up with the idea versus selling it to the brass. I lived for those moments. The emotional shift is neat.

Thanks for the laugh! [:D]

Actually the fondant inside delicacies like the Walnut Whip is more ganache-like, and not the stiff heavy stuff that is used for cake decorating.

See, I hate walnuts, but now I want a Crusty Dick. Go figure. I just want to flake the walnut off the top and toss it aside.

You know, porcelaine, somewhat off the subject at hand, admittedly, but sometimes I wonder, why do women in search of putative "alpha males" even bother with what may or may not be 'the real thing' amongst men?   They could pop down to the local zoo of an evening, bung the 'keeper fifty quid, and have half an hour of quality squelching time with the chief chimp or the silverback gorilla.

PeonForHer -> RE: How do YOU define the term alpha male? (7/19/2010 3:22:54 PM)

Thank you for your contribution to this discussion, Lady Hib, the depths of which elude me at present, but upon which I shall masticate for some while into the future.

Darling. You DO know that the gorilla has penis the size of your little finger, right?

True story.

I heard that, yes.  However, I've also heard that no-one's actually measured a male gorilla's whanger when it's been fully erect and he's about to approach the lady of his desires.

Not surprising, really.  I'd have to be paid a fack of a lot of money to get between a gorilla and the object of his ardour with a ruler.  Gorillas aren't noted for their respect for the scientific enterprise.

Mind you, I do remember ShaktiSama telling me, some time ago, that an anthropologist had actually done this.  She said that anthropologists were a 'disgusting bunch of people'.  Also deeply deranged, I'd have thought.

Peon,

Believe it or not some women do take the route suggested. Albeit not with the gorilla of course, but with something more domesticated. The end result is exclusivity and the cessation of male/female relations.

I unfortunately occasionally inhabit a sector of the corporate world where the activity described above is usually perpetrated by females. I think they define success by being assholes equivalent in size to the men they have usurped. They are the new bastards. Equal hasn't meant better. Not sure where their men are - looking for their testicles, minding the kids or something.

The CYT's in the office don't like them. Not their sex, their personalities.

Bit of a digression, but we do say that an assertive woman 'has balls', taking a male characteristic and ascribing it to a certain behavior. Always seemed weird to me.

Ok, back to gorilla dicks.

Sadly, that fascinating area is against the TOS.

I wish to admit at this point that one of my degrees is in Anthropology. I believe Shakti has one, as well... I also want to make clear that I have had NO personal contact with nonhuman primates. [;)]

Yeah we can blame Peon for stirring it up. *chuckles*

I would like to state I do not have a degree in Anthropology and we are a pet free establishment due to collegiate admission. The nest is empty now. [:D]

When small caliber bullet penetrates you, you will know its impact before hearing the guns identifying sound and as it bounces around breaking bones and slamming through arteries it most definitely will be speaking to without words. The same truth holds with observation, words become meaningless when actions belie them. “There are none blinder then those who will not see or deaf then those refusing to hear.” Unfortunately many have never learned to listen to that which comes from within.

I think I'm developing a budding affinity for submissive men. [:D]
