Depends on how badly you want/need out.

Until you figure it out, be sure to keep a bag packed and have important papers in it like birth certificates, social security cards, titles etc. If you do find help, you usually don't have time then to do any packing.

Sometimes, the need to be gone is stronger than the fear of stepping out on your own without a plan beyond making it out the front door. At least, that was my experience.

However, since you posted to the Ask a Master, my guess is you are seeking a White Knight to rescue you?

Winsome... i didnt think of that one.. course ! good advice about the birthcert. and all.. sometimes what we take for granted and what others do is different .. i need to remember that one!

i do know that Most YWCA's will help and even pay rent up for someone in need ( especially if abused mentally or physically) for a whole year after finding them a place! So other than the "White Knights" there are other outlets that are probably a bit more effective and i HOPE happen faster than meeting someOne on here to help with that situation!

i also apoligise.. i fortget to look to see what section the posting is in ... i just jump in.. my bad!
Thanks for the patience! :-)

The girl in that picture doesn't look old enough to use a computer.  That looks like a third grader.  I certainly hope there's not a third grader in this kind of trouble.  Maybe she's a 13 yr old, I don't know, but she(?) certainly doesn't look old enough to be on this site.

not know anyone

You must know someone.

Several people have given good advice. There are also a few other options with far more risk.

You should probably try CPS, Child Protective Services.  I'm sure there's an agency near you.

To OP
If it is an abuse situation: 1-800-799-SAFE (7233) http://www.ndvh.org/
Or 1-800-621-HOPE (4673) http://www.safehorizon.org/index.php

I will cmail you other info in case DV is not your issue.

edit to add:
Also, You can call Catholic Charities, The United Way or even the local police dept.
They should all be able to provide you with information and/or referrals for people/agencies to contact.

I don't know how to do the double quotes. Your second post about contacting children's protective services is what I wish to add to this.

What if she isn't a child? What if she is a young adult, which she stated she was when she signed up for CM and she just looks very young? You are looking at a picture and judging this person. How would you like it if someone looked at you and said... gee... you look old, yes you are allowed to be here I guess... but damn, do you really need to be? Then worked on the premise that they were correct about you and told you about senior discounts, AARP and the activities at the senior resource center?

My son is 26 and looks sixteen. I was an adult, step mother of four and looked about thirteen. I would go to the store and older women would see me pushing a cart and would literally push me out of the way as if I were an inconvenience to them as they did the real adult work of shopping.

But you know... the last laugh was by me and on them. I was adult.. I looked young... I had a long run and well into my older age... looked younger than those who would treat me as less than they because they looked their age. I would suggest not insulting based on the appearance of someone, least you wish to be held by the same criteria.

I was in the same boat. I was regularly carded until after I turned 45... not out of policy, they really did not think I was old enough.

Hard to tell from the avatar, but she doesn't strike me as looking like a child.

Maybe she'll come back and give some details.

She signed up in 2004, so she must be at least 24 now.
