Really the only thing I ask from a holiday book is that it’s at least 600 pages and that it doesn’t teach me anything. This year I went for a Terry Pratchet- Unseen Academicals and some one called Stieg Larsson-the girl who played with fire. I also bought torch thingy that goes around your head so I can read in the tent at night. Very taken with this, even if it does make me look a total twat. What is every one else reading on the beach this year?

There's a holiday?

Or is this one of those crazy Brits who think a vacation is holy?

If you haven't read The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, definitely do so before reading The Girl Who Played With Fire.

If you like series of books I suggest the Honor Harrington series by David Weber.  Also the Merchant Princes series by Charles Strauss.  There is also the Vorkosigan Saga and the Sharing Knife series by Lois McMaster Bujold.

The colour of magic is a perfect treat and the funniest thing Pratchett ever did.

I'm in a re-read mood....I've done all of the Sookie books for the 3rd, maybe 4th...ok 5th time.....and I'm looking for the newest one, it's supposed to have been released in May, but so far, haven't seen it.  Also looking for Janet Evanovich's 16th Stephanie Plum book, but it may not have been released yet.  My other series books hasn't released the next one....don't know when that will happen.  Obviously, I only read to escape.....I'm not much for deep books.....I like to have a laugh when I read!  I've also re-read all my Steven King books on the shelf.
