He's not an idiot. I really think he's one of the most intelligent posters on the board. He doesn't post stupid shit because he's stupid; he posts stupid shit because he's got mental health issues and lacks the ability to distinguish between stuff that makes sense and stuff that's just plain nuts. It's easy for most of us, but for him it's all a great big mystery.

Don't get me wrong; I get as exasperated by it as everyone else, and I'm on record as saying that I think it's a big part of the reason it's difficult to have a serious discussion here. But it doesn't do any good to insult the guy. It is what it is.

He claims to have a college degree, among other things. I have many friends from my college days that have mental issues, and even one that is schizophrenic, and he doesnt come off HALF as crazy and delusional as pahunk.

Mental health problems come in a wide variety of flavors. I don't think the guy can help it. I think he'd give his right arm to have just one day like you and I have every day, where we look at the newspaper and understand exactly what we're seeing. I wouldn't trade places with him for all the tea in China.

I'm not calling you guys out who are riding him, or make you feel guilty; I'm not the hall monitor. You guys have to see it the way you see it and act accordingly. I'm just saying, there's a side to this guy that people are missing. A couple of sides. I don't like most of the threads he posts either, but I do like him, and I'm glad to have him around on the whole. It just makes me feel bad to see people insult his intelligence all the time when it's not his intelligence that's broken.

Well said.

There are plenty of idiots to poke here. PA is not one of them.

And I can count on one hand the number of people here I can say that about. You have to take the good with the bad.

-- In school they do not do a good job teaching monetary history.

Prior to the great depression- no one thought that it could happen.

Once we had a depression,  we put into place Glass Stegall- and other safeguards.  Each decade the regs were gutted.  To the point where in 1995- none of the safe guards exist.

My Aunt was on the last train out of Germany.   She knows all about Wiemarr.

Hedge funds - act as economic hit men.  They have more money then most countries.   They can destroy any place they want to and they do.

The very scams we did to the 3rd world- and the native indians-- are now cycling up to middle class Americans.

Big corporations- fund congress -  in effect buy congress- and the lawyers for big business write the legislation- which your congress approves- UNREAD.

So while you think the blame is the ABC party, rather then the XYZ party;   I am telling you they are one in the same.    Transnational corporations fund and own congress- they simply rotate their agenda and flip it- per team A, vs B.

I am here to tell you that with in the next 5 years- there will be a dollar devaluation.    $1 new for 3 old ones..    Your cash will be adjusted-   ,,,sit down for this- debts to too big to fail banks will NOT be adjusted.
So-  if you earn  $1,000.00 a month- and your mortgage is $1,000.00 a month- after the devaluation- you will earn  $333.34 a month.,  but your debt- the mortgage remains at $1000.00 a month.

My mortgage here is assumable.   Who wants to buy my place?    x number of gold and silver coins to buy out my interest- then you assume the loan.     Do you have grannies coins in the attic?

You know PaHunk I'm sensing a "disconnect" between "The People" in this country and, ..."the government."
Hillary Clinton is going all around the world chastising Russia for conditions in Georgia and talking about "sanctions" against N. Korea and The People could care less what she says!
It reminds me of that movie with Morgan Freeman, "Driving Miss Daisey."
"Barak, I want to go to N. Korea!"
"Yes'm Miss Daisey!"
"Barak, we need to give third world countries more money!"
"Yes'm Miss Daisey!"
It's like they're running their own private little show and the American People be damned!
I don't suppose it will ever occur to them to consult with or even *ask* The People what we want, do you?

I don't suppose it will ever occur to you that you are not the voice of "The People" and that your opinion is just that, your opinion.

Pahunk, I don't necessarily disagree with everything you say.

You just take it to uncalled for extremes.

I have a friend who is schizophrenic and he is more intelligent and coherent than pahunk.

If pahunk is mentally impaired, then he needs help, humoring him by accepting this bullshit is not helping it is enabling. He is clearly too unstable to function within society.

Capitalism does not involve a private central bank setting interest rates.

Capitalism does not involve a private central bank adjusting the money supply.

Capitalism does not involve a system of fiat currency that requires legal tender laws to make people use it.

Capitalism does not involve protection for lenders, such as commercial bank bailouts.

Capitalism does not involve protections for investors, such as FDIC deposit insurance or investment firm bailouts.

Capitalism does not involve a government responsible for spending 40% of the nations GDP.

Capitalism does not involve massive amounts of regulations on business.

Capitalism does not involve government subsidies to certain industries.

Capitalism does not involve government contracts with corporations.

Capitalism does not involve using tax payer dollars to clean up private corporate disasters.

Capitalism does not involve government buying up the majority of resource rich land, then leasing that land out to favored corporations, such as major oil producers and mining corporations.

Capitalism does not involve restrictions on private property owners being able to harvest resources from the land they own.

Capitalism does not involve tax payer backed mortgage firms.

Capitalism does not involve a massive military industrial complex that makes all of its profits from tax dollars, unwillingly taken from the public.

Capitalism does not involve government seizing private property through eminent domain and then handing that land to private developers.

Capitalism does not involve government creating jobs.

Capitalism does not involve taxes on money (real money, such as gold and silver).

Capitalism does not involve corporate lobbying for government contracts, kickbacks, tax breaks, subsidies, favorable regulations, regulations that hinder competition, regulations that hinder startups from competing, or any other government involvement in industry.

Capitalism does not involve forcible redistribution of wealth.

Capitalism does not involve a heavy progressive income tax on people’s labor. —————— What does capitalism involve? Protection of private property rights, where a person can use their property as they see fit. Protection of private property rights, where a person gets to keep what they produce (money).

Protection of private contracts, where people are free to negotiate voluntary contracts with each other and have the courts uphold those contracts. Free markets, where people can voluntarily exchange goods and services with each other as they see fit.

Protection of money’s value, where those who counterfeit and artificially inflate the money supply are charged with a crime, rather than be rewarded with profits. ——- “Fascism should more appropriately be called Corporatism because it is a merger of state and corporate power” -Benito Mussolini, author of The Doctrine of Fascism, Italian Fascist Dictator (Duce) 1943 – 1945 “The theory of Communism may be summed up in one sentence: Abolish all private property. “ -Karl Marx, author of The Communist Manifesto/snip

pa, you do realize Ithica NY has been using a bartering system for years, yes?

The Ithaca HOUR is a local currency used in Ithaca, New York and is the oldest and largest local currency system in the United States that is still operating.[1] It has inspired other similar systems in Madison, Wisconsin, Corvallis, Oregon,[2] and a proposed system in the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania.[3] One Ithaca HOUR is valued at US$10 and is generally recommended to be used as payment for one hour's work, although the rate is negotiable.
