ORIGINAL: SaintAllie I have accepted that having a spectacular arse.. and wearing stilettoes in the shower .. is what subs want.. right? I could never get both of those things, Allie. They don't make stilettoes in my size, anyway. [;)] OP Me, I've learned colossal amounts here. Pretty much everything, in fact, other than the 'sub desire' which I've had since I was a kid. Not the techniques - I don't much care about them - or even the kinks. The feelings behind it all. A lot about what makes me tick and a little bit - but still only a little bit - about what makes Dommes tick. (I don't care about Doms or other malesubs because I don't fancy them. [;)]) And all the categories, the language, the 'ideology' of BDSM . . . . Regards that, I've realised that a certain educators' maxim relates. This is: what they carefully teach you at school, they just as carefully un-teach you at university. Likewise, I've reached that stage, here. The great categories of Sub, Dom/me, Master, Slave, Switch . . . I've carefully constructed my personal 'A level textbook' on what it all means . . . and now I'm at the point where I'm deconstructing it. A lot of it is a crock. But, the point is, you have to learn it all carefully, first, before you can unlearn it - just the same as any subject you do at school then pursue at college. I shall become increasingly cynical, at the same time as becoming more straightforward and simple about things. That's how it's always gone in any subject I've studied and I don't expect BDSM to be any different. I'd hazard a guess that I've learned more here than I did on my first degree. Specifically here, too - not any other BDSM site. This is my BDSM Alma Mater. So: infinite thanks, CM. And . . . . I've had 'outside classes for special students' as well. The provider of those is now a great friend - she knows who she is. I met her through CM, too. Wake up, Ferns, I'm talking about you! And happy birthday, hon.
