Really?

No one gives a shit?

I am the only one?

Wow.

this is kinda sad.

Like dead puppies sad.

like 10 kinds of people sad... Those who get Binary code, and those who don't.

This is how Tim Curry was most popular when he wore makeup sad. (Legend, IT, RHPS)

This is Sad like Clubbed Baby Seals who got Sodomized before hand.

This is sad like 1/20/09 - 12:01pm.

This is sad like the facts of life series finale.

This is sad like When Mr. Rogers Died.

This is sad like when Optimus Prime Died.... then died again... then died again.... then died again.

This is sad like..... How sad that I think this is sad is sad.

Did you watch the Links I sent?

Tron Legacy has really brought the idea to what it was always ment to be.

I am still amazed at how awesome this looks.

I gues some people are LoTR fans and Some are TRON fans.

Maybe I should let it go.

I disagree, the links you sent have sort of made me not so keen to see the new film, ( and I was until that kind of interested in watching the new movie), as it has lost a lot of what TRON was, and I saw the original film at the cinema. I mean motorcycle sounds, as if there was an internal combustion engine there, inside a computer, nah. The light cycles in the original TRON were just cycles, what sounds supposedly issued from those things in the original sounded more futuristic as opposed to what is being suggested now, which basically sounds like a Jap bike. The other thing about the light cycles in the original movie was the impossible changes of direction, everything in binary one direction or another, no curves.

The new TRON I guess is another classic film ballsed up by Hollywood because they now have better technology and are scratching around for something to make because originality has been more or less lost.

Actually Aneirin, You need to follow much more than the film, the games Tron 2.0, TR2N (Just a trailer in 2005), and Tron Evolution (Game soon to be coming out), These expain what has happened to the universe.

If all you saw was Tron, then you missed MUCH of what the place is all about.

If you are upset about SOUNDS then yeah you might not wanna watch this one. I am sure LOTS of things will eventually piss you off about it if SOUNDS bugged you in the Trailer.

I am wanting to know what they do with the story, I could give a shit about the sounds. The story gets to continue with graphics from today. Bridges gets to play an Old Man as Flynn and apparently he is also a Program as well but cloned from his young self.

LOOKS WICKED.

Stories in movies these days rarely interest me, they have all been told before, in whatever genre in whatever age. My interest is an original sound and light extravaganza, something which is becoming increasingly rare these days because we are soaked in the stuff via computer technology. Twenty eight years ago when personal computers, the internet and all we now take for granted was a world away to the great majority of us something like TRON was a visual feast, whereas the new TRON I feel has lost it's originality, it will be another film that fades into the miasma of similar CGI infested products.

Can you imagine the first time the original StarWars was shown at the cinema, a complete breakthrough at the time, a western movie in space, goodies wore white, baddies wore black, subsequent episodes, The Empire Strikes Back and The Return of The Jedi though part of the story following the lives of characters from the original masterpiece, they had lost the edge that Star Wars had, it quite simply had been seen before, although there were with advances in technology in subsequent years small break throughs of breath taking action, speeder bikes through  a forest for example, as seen in The Return of The Jedi. That was that as far as we of that generation were concerned, the Star Wars trilogy complete and with good memories too.

But what happens, years later up pops a new episode, then another and another, obviously there was more to the story to be had and so film (?) makers churned out a sameness which did not have the same appeal, aye the effects were good, computer generated and with a slickness that made the original films look positively gritty, but with the new technologies employed they got it wrong as far as many of the original followers were concerned. What made it wrong was the new computer generated technology created scenes that appeared to be more advanced than the original films, more futuristic yet they were supposed to be set earlier than the origianl Star Wars trilogy, years earlier as the story goes, they had basically fucked up with that one, for they had lost continuity.

But I am not against CGI, in fact I love it, with Final Fantasy-The Spirits Within being one of my favourite films and though I didn't get to see Avatar in the cinema, I shall at some point see it, it is on my menu of films to see, but one thing I am becoming very aware of every film from the past that is remade with modern technology is losing the original appeal, as if the film makers are saying the first attempt at this thing was a half assed attempt, but now we have the tools available to us, we can get it right this time, or is it really about keeping their jobs in an industry that has basically done it all already before the advent of computers.

But of films that are memorable to me they are few but come from 43 years of cinema delight and represent milestones in my age and do include ;   Pete's Dragon, The Cat From Outer Space, Warlords Of Atlantis, Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, The Return of The Jedi, Tron, Clash of The Titans, Mad Max, Beyond Thunderdome, Dune, The Crow, Final Fantasy, Braveheart, Gladiator LOTR LOTR 2, LOTR 3 not in any particular order, but they all hold memories from the time I saw the movies, so they stick with me as the good times in my life.

But, I suppose it could be, my aversion to modern day remakes of my classics could be about the movie industry rehashing my good memories

Edited to add, I just watched Mad Max 4 teaser on Youtube and that looks like it has lost it as well ah well, keep the memories as they say.

Actually I like both LoTR and TRON. Can't wait for the movie to come out, but until then I will have to enjoy the previews. Thanks for the links.
