DUDE!

I already bought the software.

How many times should I pay for that song????

I even seen vids blocked because the show intro music or music that was in the background not part of the vid.

Recall how McCain was using unpaid for music.  I can see how that is easy to do.

When you broadcast it?, every time it is played.

In the privacy or your won home?, once will do.

Why would I make a video for only me to see?

Why are others having the sound  blocked?   Lets say I do everything right- why are there still others??

Jeffff -> RE: Copyright Trolling (7/24/2010 12:36:23 PM)

You could have your video without music. or you could have it with music you recorded.

Or you could contact whoever owns the rights to the tune.

I have no idea why others are getting away with it.

Well Jefff,  Hopefully you never sing happy birthday online.

That would cost you 10k.

Jeffff -> RE: Copyright Trolling (7/24/2010 12:39:14 PM)

I may be mistaken, but I think Happy Birthday is public domain now.

pahunkboy -> RE: Copyright Trolling (7/24/2010 12:39:46 PM)

Nope.

Jeffff -> RE: Copyright Trolling (7/24/2010 12:40:47 PM)

Ok then, I won't sing it on line.

willbeurdaddy -> RE: Copyright Trolling (7/24/2010 2:23:22 PM)

Happy Birthday brings in about $2 million a year in royalties. But the remedies for copyright infringment are nothing near $10k for a single offense.

My two favorite IP items are "Three-Peat" and the patent on folding car window shades. One infringement firm brings in something like $10 million a year in settlements for violation of that "brilliant" idea.

First, We kill all the lawyers ------------------- W. Shakespeare

I hope that is old enough to be in public domain.
