Now I am posting this in the kindest way I can muster, but like others here I am sometimes a bit too blunt...

I read the other thread, and I think you misconstrued directness/bluntness with pettiness/snarkiness/nastiness. These fora have their own rhythm. People post here more often than not with good intention. It is my advice to try to find the good intention instead of jumping to the conclusion that the intention is bad.

On the other thread, someone pointed out to you that you may find resistance if you make statements that lump everyone together. Now something maybe true in YOUR experience that may not be true in MY experience. This does not make us wrong, it makes us different. I think there is a good deal for you to learn here, if not about yourself, then about others, but before you settle in and get comfortable please understand there are very few of us that do this "lifestyle" thing the same way.... and gasp, some of us do not consider it a lifestyle at all.

I hope you do not allow a couple of bad threads to scare you off and stop your contributions to CollarChat fora... if you hang out and read and watch you will find your own favorite posters, people whom you agree with and disagree with, and if you hang out long enough you will find that you will disagree with people that you thought you agreed with. Some of those posters that you become fond of reading might be posting on this very thread about the "drama" of it...

In short, you are new here, I hope you let this thread and the other go and get value from learning about how we work as a subculture of a subculture in these here parts.....

Welcome to your first flamefest that did not go well for you, stick around long enough and you will have more... or you could be a masochist like me and go to the political boards just to partake in them

I do believe this is the case with the thread in question. I do think the apology to aqua is better placed on the other thread where the comments occurred, however, who cares?

Chris you should know people do this whole public punishment thing often here, thus the response. It's a bit odd and uncomfortable for everyone else when they are drawn into the dynamic of others.

It's admirable that you are willing to apologize to aqua though, congrats to you for doing so. The comments about where, how, when, why...blah blah blah are just part of how posters respond, I wouldn't take it to heart. The point is you did it.

There are certain triggers here that the posters will respond to, in time I'm sure you will see them, until then I wouldn't personalize any of it. It really isn't about you. We don't know you, you don't know us. Hang in there!

You should have been around in the glory days when my owner used to be more of poster.

At any rate, since my posts were yanked - no hard feelings towards the mods, I simply misunderstood a posting policy here and the issue wasn't even related to the OP - I want to repeat that the apology is appreciated and all. I would have preferred a much quieter one much but the sentiment is lovely all the same. Thank you and hopefully if/when we disagree in the future it will go much more smoothly.

this one was thinly disguised as an appology - if the OP had simply left it as an appology there would have probably been less attention paid to it. but it came across more as an invitation to discuss her pending punishment and i for one wasnt going to play.

Let that be a lesson, people here do not think kindly of Masters that send or have appeared to send their subs to the forums for punishment suggestions. Punishments should be left for the dom to decide.

Really? I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt since we won't actually ever know if it is a thinly veiled anything. Shrugs.

Also, the "I apologize because he makes me" is the kind of apology that is merely for the doing of it. It does not have any substance. That alone makes it squicky. YMMV
