tigreetsa -> There's this film...... (7/23/2010 10:06:35 AM)

I'm still not sure where to post this but I thought that this section might be the best on reflection (I could be wrong, sue me).

I haven't been around for a while because I've been working on my films and I guess this is to give everyone a progress update.

Filming has now completed for 'Switch', was delayed due to various problems, a change of location and also because I decided that I wasn't happy with a few things and wanted to film it all over again. We were filming in an industrial unit in Battersea, South West London originally. However this changed because Battersea is at the start of the 'last leg' of the EEGL flight path into London Heathrow airport and the constant flying overhead of larger aircraft such as Airbuses and Boeing 747s would have made editing extremely difficult if not impossible. The location was changed to Woking in Surrey.

Appearing in the film are Diana Hunt, Shirley Barton-Gunning and David Fisher, all of who are making their debut in character acting. The film is about relationships between men and women and divisions of gender and is set in the alternative lifestyles community. However there's no whips and chains, no sex, this is more to do with social reality than something like 'The Secretary'. Nor is it Hollywood by any means, it's rough, unpolished, authentic.

I am about to start editing the film and plan to have the DVD ready sometime late in August when it will be available on the Internet and via Amazon dot com. Please note that I have also started filming scenes from my debut feature length film 'Death' (envisaged to come out before Christmas) which I am editing scene by scene as I film, and together with editing Switch explains why I simply don't get much time to be here, or for much else.

'Switch' will start appearing at film festivals both in the UK and abroad (including the States) from November onwards. Currently a submission has been arranged to the 24th Leeds International Film Festival, Cinecity in Brighton are also waiting, and I also have the Salford Film Festival in mind. There are no available festivals in London this year, but the film will be publicly screened at LAM - the London Alternative Market from the autumn where you will also be able to obtain copies of the DVD.

If you run a munch or an event and want to show the DVD you can have a copy if you cover postage.

The film has it's own page on Facebook, which you are welcome to check out. You can also become a fan and receive updates, news, further images and clips and information as it happens. I need a few more days before the website is updated and we start appearing on Twitter.

For the first time entries are going to be made to film festivals in the United States and Canada, and arrangements are being made so that you can obtain DVDs within North America.

Please feel free to contact me on the other side if you have any questions,things you wish to share, or want to reserve a copy of the DVD.

edited because my brain is too challenged to do a proper, fancy link.
