Dear Diary.

My vacation probably wont me much fun for a while. I testified that there was "considerable uncertainty" in the economy, and the markets took a dive. Even worse, Professor Obama called and said I was contradicting his boasting about how well the economy is doing and he wasnt very happy. I think Im going to have to say something so he isnt so angry.

Dear Diary.

I think Ive solved my problem. I told everyone that extending the Bush tax cuts would be a stimulus to the economy, and the markets jumped on the news!

Dear Diary

Rut ro. Professor Obama called again. He yelled at me. He said that I cant say that extending the Bush tax cuts would stimulate the economy when he's been saying for 2 years that the Bush tax cuts caused the bad economy. He said that any admission that tax cuts are stimulative are going to throw somebody named Ken Doll into paroxysms. I don't know who this "Ken Doll" person is, but I guess he's pretty important in economics, or Professor Obama wouldnt be so upset that I pissed on his debunked Keynesian theories.

I think I should spend the rest of my summer of recovery vacation writing my resume.

Ben
