The first merriment was when Scott McInnis had been paid $150K per year for two years to write original thoughts, which he then simply plagiarized other articles for. When confronted, he promptly blamed someone who had done the work for him,. despite the terms of his contract specifying that the work was to be original. He then managed to lie, evade, and generally make a fool of himself. http://www.denverpost.com/election2010/ci_15551558 Three of McInnis staff quit, never a good sign: http://www.denverpost.com/election2010/ci_15536852 His opponent in the GOP primary, Dan Maes, is embroiled in an ethics investigation, and has claimed to be a succesful entrepreneur, who in fact is a failure in business. http://www.denverpost.com/opinionheadlines/ci_15562019 A consulting firm has asked its employees to work for no pay. Odd that politicos should break basic employment law. http://www.denverpost.com/election2010/ci_15572633 Finally, Tom Tancredo, known for his militant anti-immigrant stance, has threatened to join the race as a third party candidate if Maes and McInnis don't drop out. http://www.denverpost.com/election2010/ci_15582443 The Colorado GOP threatened to sue Tancredo if he ran as a third party candidate and then quikcly reversed itself when it discovered that they had no grounds to do so. http://blogs.denverpost.com/thespot/2010/07/23/state-gop-threatens-lawsuit-to-keep-tancredo-off-the-ballot/12289/ What a wacky, wonderful place!
