Do a search here on the forums for "induced lactation". There are a ton of threads with lots of good info.

Prolactin is the hormone in the body that produces breast milk (that's also the hormone that produces ejaculate in males). I know sometimes women who adopt are given the hormone so that they can nurse.

If you want to do it just for cream in your coffee or whatever, I don't know if a doctor would give you a prescription. The other threads given might have more info about that part. Good luck :)

As others have commented, lactation can be induced - I'm sure if you google the phrase you'll find tons of information on how to induce lactation in both women and men.

I used to be a member of La Leche after nursing for 18 months. I never breastfead an adult and never thought I would ever use this info later in life lol. The way that I had learned to produce milk was hormone therapy with high doses of estrogen similar to the amounts you produce in the last trimester of pregnancy then a fast drop in it replaced by a drug called Reglan. Using a breast pump along with this assisted in producing the most milk. The more you pump the more you produce.
There are also many noted cases of women who were adopting and just began pumping without even adding hormone therapy.

I would also like to add that there are always risks with this type of therapy. I only add this due to having postpartum depression and I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy

Greetings.

You don't necessarily need a drug to promote lactation.  You can use natural herbs, The Marmet Technique and either regular suckling by your partner and/or a breast pump.

A gentle suggestion would be to use drugs as a last resort.

If you go the articles section on my site, you will hopefully find the answers you are seeking.

Good luck.  [:D]

Best,

Shani

I'm not so sure that a doctor will write a prescription for prolactin if You tell him why you really want it. lol But Your sub could also try using a breast pump several times every day over time, and hopefully the stimulation will cause milk production. Here's a link to a breast pump site online: http://www.trusted-breast-pumps.com/ And this is the least expensive one I could find on that site: http://www.trusted-breast-pumps.com/medela-breast-pumps/medela-harmony-manual-breast-pump.html My Daddy & I both work in healthcare, and that's what I plan on trying anyway.
