Don't lie, LP. Now you know where the real freaks hang out and I bet you regret even asking the question.

Actually, I don't regret it at all.  It's been rather tame for this section.

I like that this group- we can talk about anything. If I have a bad day- it is overlooked.

I don't have to hide being gay.   I dont have to be any particular religion or social status.

I do run on a few boards- the others are precious metals.  While that crowd is more open to corruption posts- they cant take a joke- and are often uptight.

I like that many screen names I know some of the history of that person.

One thing-  these boards are not a sworn affidavit,   nor are the ones full legal name.  So the banter is more of entertainment- chat- rather then oath.    Some of it thinking out loud- kicking around ideas.

Even tho I buck heads for a few- I do enjoy the bulk of the folks here.

I will post in any section, as it is permitted.  I do have a kink for religious icons so it's part and parcel of BDSM and fetish for me.  There are fewer politics threads I can contribute to, being from the UK, but I do join in when I can.

I came for the kink. Now I venture all over.

I used to enjoy it here in the basement more. It seems to me that there is no debate here, just an exchange of ideology.

It also seems to me that I am not helping much with name calling so I have decided to avoid it as much as possible.

I have also started checking out of threads early. There is no point to endless argument and you can't fix stupid.

It remains to be seen how well I will do this...:)

I think they're all mostly equal, but I do spend a lot of time in the politics threads simply because it fascinates me.  I think that if I just thought things and didn't push myself to see what others thought, I'd remain very narrow-minded.  But this section is also discussed with Daddy, because He enjoys watching me grow in all aspects, including my views of the world, politics and religion.  I also comment in the general BDSM threads when I feel the urge to and Ask a Submissive/Slave.

So...in essence, this section is just another kind of teaching/learning tool.

Okay, this is off topic but I have to ask.

Why do so many women refer to their doms as Daddy?

Myself, I find it a little creepy.

I don't refer to dommes as Mommy.

I had a Mother, I never felt the need for another one.

There is a current thread on this very topic in General BDSM. Venture out of P&R every once in a while and you might learn something....or be repulsed. Pick your poison.

To those who send the majority of their posting time in this section, are you pulled here because your primary interest is in BDSM, but Politics and Religion are topics that interest you more than discussion of wiitwd?

I joined this site looking to find a girl, succeeded and noticed that there were forums in the process. I stuck around for a while looking to learn about a few things that she was into that I didn't have much experience with but found this site to be mostly useless except that it told me about fetlife. I've found that site to be a vastly more useful site for finding information on the nuts and bolts of bdsm. I continue to browse the forums, I think mostly because I'm a bit of a forum addict and find myself posting mostly in this and the bondage gear forums.

I'm curious, how would people who aren't into bdsm ever even find this forum?

I have a pet, I have a hubby, I have a full life, I wanted to learn about the US political scene leading up to the last election because I was totally in the dark regarding primaries, how people voted for reps, senators, leaders etc as it differs completely to what I know from the UK and Canada, not so much the partisan stuff, just the actual running up to and after and election and I got hooked.
Primarily I am now out of the local"scene" altho I was very involved, my BDSM is limited to daily contact via computer, phone, vid, etc, I dont play with others, I dont like to give out to much info because my pet is private and when we connect its all about the roles and play and planning for the next visit.. I dont care to get into semantics regarding my orientation or putting down others orientations and kinks, altho I have my moments. I enjoy learning new techniques, differing scenes and having fun.
I dont get into religious topics, but yes I do enjoy the political ones, there just arent enough hours in the day to give the whole forum the effort it would need. Politically im so far left im practically touching the ground, but I enjoy being able to discuss american happenings with my very american republican catholic pet.
Also my boys are very aware politically both US and canada, so I keep up with them.

I need to work now tho, BDSM related:)
