joether is a bigot. He has proved that by his posts. You making cracks like the one highlighted above puts you in the same class as he is. Is that really how you want people to see you?

Wow....

Is that the limit of your mind? Petty insults? Nothing further to add to the original topic?

Corporations across America, do the exact same thing Senator Kerry did with the yacht. The larger ones, employ people, to find a better way to reduce taxes. Since taxes, are an expense of doing business, and thus, lowers Net Profit. If conservatives, are REALLY as up in arms about what the senator did, why are they ALSO, not up in arms about this practice when corporations do it?

But how many Republicans, would donate money to a state of the union? Or to the country itself?

Similar to passing judgement before facts are known. Then again, you believe that every water molecule is returned to the the "earth" once it has been used. Chemistry much?

Last I checked, the guy has a home in R.I. If he wanted to register in R.I., that's his business.

Ohh do tell. Where in Rhode Island does Kerry own a home ? A link to this information would be helpful to your arguement.

Public record indicates his  residence is Massachusetts. He is a registered voter here in Mass. I suspect his drivers lic. was issued by Mass.

No, I am not pissed at all. And if you want to keep calling it a charitable donation, have to it. I make my annual charitable donations to the Commonwealth too.

I said everything I wanted to say about the OP in my first post. Then I responded to other posts. That is the way it works on here. And if I see a bigot in the process I point it out. Now if this is a problem for you, you can either stop posting like a bigotted asswipe or ignore my posts. What ever floats your boat.

I could be wrong but I thought Teresa Heinz Kerry still had a Rhode Island vacation home from her marriage to the late John Heinz

It must be a slow News day over in Europe.
Joether, it's a moot point now.
You might refer to the dept of revenue for the commonwealth of massachusetts and I'm sure they or their site can answer all your questions without even insulting you!

Then why wasn't his response to the charges "but I have a house in RI" and not "oh shit, yea, I guess I better pay them then"?

Senator Kerry, of Massachusetts, is volunteering to give the taxes, he said. Now, how many conservatives are happy that Senator Kerry is paying taxes? How many of those people, they seem to vote for, who dont pay their fair share of taxes?

You are defending Kerry by saying Corporations, Republicans and Conservatives all do the same things... amazing.

I would have done the same damn thing Kerry did and flagged it in Rhode Island... but here's the thing... I am betting you think the MA excise and sales tax on yachts is moral and just don't you?

So why are you defending Kerry...why did most of the liberal and leftist posters here who also think extra and specific target taxes on the rich are moral and just, defend Kerry???

Why not defend Kerry because the Chinese flooded the Yangzee Valley with the Three Gorges Dam?

Your entire defense of Senator Kerry seems to be it's OK for him to be a Scofflaw because he's on our side.

FR... what amazes me is the pass all of the liberal and leftist posters wanted to give Kerry.

There were a couple who showed outrage but for the most past, CM's left wanted to blame anyone and everyone but Senator Kerry.

Nah this is about how things like this actually go.

John and Theresa decide they would like a boat.  (or someone even suggest they know one for sale)

Someone who works for those corporations that take care of the family fortune goes out and brings back pictures and portfolios of boats that they think John and Theresa would like.

John and Theresa look at the pictures,  maybe even look at a boat or two, and pick one out.

Someone who manages the business affairs negotiates the purchase and sets up the home port in RI.  And yes the accountant handling that most likely did it to save the taxes.

John and Theresa don't give that a second thought.  Why should they?  They have a home in RI, why shouldn't the boat be there?  It's not like someone came back and said the home port for the boat is some island in the Caribbean.

The accountants and business handlers made the choices but John gets the flack.  So now he looks at them and says just pay the damn taxes.

It doesn't matter how many homes he has or where they are located. His main residence is in MA. That is where he docked the boat and that is the state he owes taxes to.

Are you that dense?

You really think old John sat down one might studying the tax info and deciding where to berth the boat?

Geezzzz, that's what rich people pay the accountants and the ones who run things for them to do.

The only ones with any credibility to bash Kerry are those already against tax dodges, tax shelters and tax loopholes.

I have no problem with FDD and other cons complaining about Kerry.Go ahead.

But not without being partisan hypocrite hacks. But when has that ever been an issue?

Not really.  As long as he didn't use it in MA they weren't interested in the taxes.  When he docked it in MA was when they started looking into it.  The tax office said after 6 months they might not have even looked into it.

I firmly believe that everyone commenting on this thread has never fudged the charitable deductions on their own tax returns.
