FYI, here's the real Contract from America for comparison...

1. Protect the Constitution
2. Reject Cap & Trade
3. Demand a Balanced Budget
4. Enact Fundamental Tax Reform
5. Restore Fiscal Responsibility & Constitutionally Limited Government
6. End Runaway Government Spending
7. Defund, Repeal, & Replace Government-run Health Care
8. Pass an ‘All-of-the-Above” Energy Policy
9. Stop the Pork
10. Stop the Tax Hikes

From your link.

Somewhat contradictory isn't it?

McGlowan believes the tea party movement has been unfairly portrayed as monolithically white, male and middle-aged, though she acknowledged blacks and Hispanics are a minority at most events.

The point is from what I have seen of the teabagger rallies and town hall meetings there has been little to no minority involvement.

But the few who participate are held up as proof of the teabaggers being racially inclusive.

You mean those weren't teabagger parties and town hall meeting disruptions that I've seen on television and all over the internet?

Damn, I wonder who those people were?

Maybe socialists trying to destroy America.

Put down your remote and actually go to some meetings, you'll be surprised.

Democrats are going to need more than the race card and lies and Bush memoirs to win this fall, they're going to need a miracle. Or a series of miracles.

That's interesting.

Isn't that the same thing you said two years ago?

Republicans are gonna need more than hiding their homosexuals in closets, and lies, and Bushes memoirs to win this fall, they are going to need some actual reasoned positions.  Or a miracle.

No one or two people speak for a whole party. ... Not to mention those who were cited were republican politicians... who says they speak for the tea party?

Well, you are correct in that no one person speaks for the Republican or Tea Parties.....
BUT....

Not one Republican has ever publically disagreed with Rush Limbaugh without later having to grovel and backtrack; so it is only a slight exaggeration to say that Rush Limbaugh is the unofficial head of the Republican party.

Also- the Tea Party is only nominally non-partisan; they align so closely with the majority of the Republicans that it is nearly impossible to distinguish; so its not unfair to lump them all together.

The original post listed hot-button issues favored by a minority of conservative Republicans; maybe they aren't official planks of the party, but they ARE popular with the segment of the Party that is in power, and dominating the national conversation. For example, name a major Republican who will publically disavow any of the 10 statements; one or two brave souls, maybe, but very few.

But in any case, if one wanted to ridicule the Tea/ Republican Parties, all they have to do is post the real ones, as Kirata did.

Exactly Master AnimusRex.

As with Obama, the Dems, the Republicans, ect, there is enough factual information on the net to redicule the Tea Party over without having to come up with a list from any other party.

No, not in English. Were you reading a translation?

What's your point? Lack of minority participation often only indicates lack of interest.

It has been a matter of discussion on the largest forum of Appalachian Trail enthusiasts ( White Blaze that there are very very few AT thru-hikers. There are even fewer on the PCT and CDT. That's not because the AT or other trails are closed to minorities- it's because backpacking is in large part a cultural thing- a white thang, if you will.

Conversely, whites make up more than half of the population, but make up substantially less than that at, gee, I dunno...
"immigration rights" rallies, affirmative action rallies, etc etc.

All are welcome at Tea Party rallies, not all chose to go.

This simpleton race card crap is a sign od desperation.

The tea-baggers have as much minority participation as the GOP does........very little.

A percent of a percent. And for the same reasons.

The tea-baggers are the grand ol party.

Well, miracles and positions are good.
