WyldHrt -> Samuel L Jackson (7/29/2010 1:43:47 AM)

Looking over the excel file I use to keep track of the (way too many) movies I own, his name is at the top of the actors list, by far. Soooo many great movies!

My faves:
A Time to Kill
The Long Kiss Goodnight
Pulp Fiction
SWAT
Lakeview Terrace
Basic
The Negotiator

Am I the only one who thinks he's awesome? What are your favorite Samuel L Jackson movies?

cbaby -> RE: Samuel L Jackson (7/29/2010 3:10:42 AM)

totally off topic......they have neighborhoods for orgy noises???.........damn

DarkSteven -> RE: Samuel L Jackson (7/29/2010 3:45:30 AM)

He carried Jackie Brown as the villain.  He was in Unbreakable with Bruce Willis and he just made Willis look like an actor wannabe.

He has some quality that gives him an electric presence on camera.

He was also in The Incredibles.  He's better when not animated.  :)

I can't believe you didn't put this in the Chocolate Gods of Thunder thread.

He made it there even! PAGES ago!

of course we love him!

I like "The Long Kiss Goodnight" with Geena Davis.
Though his character wears nerdy clothes[>:]

**Eta, oooops, you already listed that**[&o]

DomKen -> RE: Samuel L Jackson (7/29/2010 6:08:26 AM)

How could you have overlooked that modern classic of cinematography:
Snakes on a Plane

drunkenly rooting for him to end every line with mf was the only thing that made Star Wars episodes 1, 2 and 3 watchable.

LaTigresse -> RE: Samuel L Jackson (7/29/2010 8:22:03 AM)

Well Pulp Fiction is one of my favourite movies and Black Snake Moan has a certain something that I thought his acting made legit.

Oh, he also had a small part in another of my favs...Goodfellas.

GreedyTop -> RE: Samuel L Jackson (7/29/2010 8:27:45 AM)

Pulp Fiction!!  oh yeah!!

Kill Bill (1 and 2)

dreamofthemoon -> RE: Samuel L Jackson (7/29/2010 2:37:34 PM)

I've posted this more times than I can count, but I still love it:

quote:

There's this passage I got memorized. Ezekiel 25:17. "The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is The Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee." I been saying that shit for years. And if you heard it, that meant your ass. I never gave much thought to what it meant. I just thought it was some cold-blooded shit to say to a motherfucker 'fore I popped a cap in his ass. But I saw some shit this mornin' made me think twice. See, now I'm thinking, maybe it means you're the evil man, and I'm the righteous man, and Mr. 9 millimeter here, he's the shepherd protecting my righteous ass in the valley of darkness. Or, it could mean you're the righteous man and I'm the shepherd and it's the world that's evil and selfish. I'd like that. But that shit ain't the truth. The truth is, you're the weak, and I'm the tyranny of evil men. But I'm tryin', Ringo. I'm trying real hard to be the shepherd.

These two are at the top of the list, as well as "A Time To Kill," "Losing Isaiah," "Eve's Bayou," and "Freedomland."

GambitLeBeau -> RE: Samuel L Jackson (7/29/2010 6:52:14 PM)

Pulp Fiction, Snakes on a Plane... I dunno if anybody's seen his episode in Ricky Gervais's comedy Extras, but that's great too.

However you did miss the worst movie he ever did.

THE SPIRIT.

This whole thing was like Shit Drying on the sidewalk..... you saw it, you knew it existed.... you stayed as far away as you could.

It was on Showtime....

I watched...

I wish I had not.

It was like watching what the Bible Thumpers wished Sin City had been.

I was Angry with Sammy L.....

Then I watched Pulp Fiction and Black Snake Moan and I was good again.
