Hi there. I'm new and figured I should suck it up and introduce myself before I develop too much of a lurking bug. :] Hmmm, let's see. I'm twenty, a student and artist, a geek/nerd, a music and movie lover, a sub, and an avid fan of anything kinky and offensive by vanilla standards.

That's a good introduction, right? [:)]

DarlingSavage -> RE: Salutations! (7/29/2010 4:14:41 PM)

Cute pictures, but where's the artwork?

vegetablelamb -> RE: Salutations! (7/29/2010 4:20:51 PM)

Well you're the first to ask, so I didn't add any. I added them. :]

JoePNY707 -> RE: Salutations! (7/29/2010 5:36:21 PM)

LOL--love the introduction/bio!

Welcome to CM.

Very nice.  What medium is that?  Watercolor?

I love this quote from your profile:

I am not a vegetarian because I love animals; I am a vegetarian because I hate plants. - A. Whitney Brown

Joe: Thanks, lol.
Darling: They're digitally drawn, as that doesn't leave my hands all covered in smudges, and they clean up a lot better. I haven't mastered much by way of traditional media, which is more than likely a travesty and sends respectable artists shaking their fists at the damn technological age.
Steven: Thank you, I've always liked that quote. [;)]
Jewels: Thank you! I believe I am already.

Also, side note but I can't click on the message box with my cursor; I have to get the caret to show up by inserting an emoticon first. Any speculation as to why that's happening?

Here is some digital work.  The artist is Ray Caesar.  He creates his models digitally, then he paints them.

vegetablelamb -> RE: Salutations! (7/30/2010 8:02:30 AM)

Ooh: Thank you. :]

Darling: Gosh, I think I drooled a little. My favorite works are the one that at first glance look like real media, like a sculpture or something. The skin tone on the model is fantastic, and the textures on her jeans and the tips of her boots... Mmm.

One I like is http://fc02.deviantart.net/fs8/i/2005/298/7/3/Tentacle_by_d3m0ni0.jpg

When I first saw it I thought it was something someone had constructed out of real materials. Then I looked a little closer and noticed the slightly off texturing.

DarlingSavage -> RE: Salutations! (7/30/2010 12:10:24 PM)

  He's out of this world!

I made a mistake, these are prints.  But I thought he told me that he painted them.  He may do that.  His website says that the work is entirely digital, though.  However, it also says that he was born a dog.  :D

DarlingSavage -> RE: Salutations! (7/30/2010 12:24:22 PM)

I just looked at his new work and I just love this piece, Silent Partner!

WOW! Pretty amazing--thanks for sharing! (If Gomez wasn't already married to her, I think Morticia might have had some competition)

vegetablelamb -> RE: Salutations! (7/30/2010 5:16:30 PM)

Wow, yeah; I saw that picture first and I definitely like that (I think I'm a fan of tentacles now). Sleeping by Day is good, too, and the music on the site fits the whole feel of the paintings very well. The colors and shading are superb.

JoePNY707 -> RE: Salutations! (7/30/2010 5:24:45 PM)

I know what you mean--some friends sent me some Japanese artwork, and several pieces were tentacle motif.

At first, I thought it a bit odd, but it gradually grew on me, and some of the pieces are quite arousing...

Nothing like art appreciation!

vegetablelamb -> RE: Salutations! (7/30/2010 5:28:19 PM)

So true, but then Japanese artwork tends to deserve an entirely different level of appreciation. Were they modern or older? I've seen some of their older tapestries and such, and it was all really intriguing (both the PG and more adult themes).

JoePNY707 -> RE: Salutations! (7/30/2010 5:56:49 PM)

Most of them were newer art, and the older works--as I recall, looked as though they'd been scanned from one of those coffee-table type collections.

The newer pieces were essentially modern erotica, but the older ones were the more imaginative...rather that being blatant, they were more suggestive. The one I remember most is of a maiden escaping from the sea--the hero is pulling her to shore as a octopus (kraken? not sure of the Japanese mythology in this case) is losing the tug of war...but her waist is below water, and judging from the position of one of the tentacles--and more importantly--from the expression on her face, I'm guessing that she is getting a parting caress that she will not soon forget.

If I can find it, I'll send you a copy.

vegetablelamb -> RE: Salutations! (7/30/2010 6:49:40 PM)

Sounds about right. You know the bit about the penis being a horribly inappropriate and banned image (or something along those lines, I believe), so they used tentacles instead. Creative way to obtain pornography.
