Hi everyone...I am the chiropractor that Wyld spoke of.  [:)]

Speaking as a man and as a dominant, I LOVE high heels.  They do wonders for the appearance of most women's calves and ass and they can make almost any outfit look better.  That said...

They can also cause:  spinal problems (I know, trust me...I've seen enough of them in 27 yrs of practice), especially at the L4 - L5 -S1 junctions, stress fractures of the feet, bunions (because of the increase in weight borne by the balls of the feet), varicose veins, problems at the knee joint (tends to wind up hyperextended due to the "throwing" of the body forward), instability of the ankle (non-supportive in many types of heels and because of the lessening of the weight put upon the ankle.  Instead of the ankle area acting as a weight-bearing joint, it ends up acting as a stabilizing joint.  While the ankle is geared to do both, it is not geared to do one more than the other).  These are just some of the problems.

That said...I love high heels.  But I advise my patients and would advise my submissive to wear them with informed caution.

Thanks for the info....

I was 21 when I quit wearing heels constantly... (yeah I used to). I fell down a flight of stairs wearing 3 inch heels when I was pregnant with my son and my ex hubby had a fit over it (rightly so)...Through the remainder of my pregnancy I discovered how much I liked comfortable shoes

thank goodness I was never fond of high heels...and since a few years I have insoles with patted area at my heels as otherwise they cause agony to me....so the shoe industry ain't getting rich from me [:)]

I have one green pair for my green dress which I wear about one day per year...or maybe....2 hours per year...to be honest...but only as I couldn't find good flat shoes for that dress yet...

apart from that I often fall over as my ankles give in...so I don't even want to imagine what injuries I might create if I would be wearing heals in such moments...[8|]

nope, my feet remain firm on the ground [:)]

Well in my defense, the stairs I fell down were to a stage that my hubby was performing on (he is a musician) and they had just been waxed[8|].. dancing heels, waxed stairs, and 6 month pregnant lady do not mix

HisEvelyn -> RE: Request made for wearing high heels (8/8/2010 1:42:45 PM)

I am one who actually did not know about the dangers of heels beyond the shortening of the achilles tendon. This thread has been very informative for me, personally. I'm not a big fan of shoes, high heels or not. I'm usually very casual, sneakers and more sneakers.

But occasionally I do enjoy wearing a nice pair of high-heel boots. I'm not big on shoes, but I looooove boots. I really need to wear them a bit more often to practice before I'm going to go out in them for an evening. Learned that lesson when I went out to a club with my Master in three inch spike heel boots. Was in them all night, doing naughty bump and grind dancing with Master, and drinking enough that I didn't feel the warning signs of pain beyond a slight discomfort on the ball of my foot.

The next day, I spent half the day in a hot bath crying, because my legs and feet hurt so badly. So in three weeks when we go to a club again? I'll be wearing thigh-high boots again, but these are rennie style leather thigh-high boots with a one inch wedge heel, lol.

Seriously,i don't need a waxed stage and pregnancy to be at serious risk...me in heels is like holly on top of stairs. Its a made combination for disaster...

I had some unpleasant falls already when my ancles gave in at times with flat shoes...when i picked up mr A from the airport i took them off when we left the bus,as i was much faster and safer, walking bare feet home...

I just wear heels in my bedroom lol...

Then you are not real nor true,...report for reeducation camp immediately

My hooker  heels go from the closet to my bed to the floor and back to the closet..
I live in UGGS, flip flops, ballerina flats and sneakers to the gym.  When I do have to dress up I will wear heels and complain the whole night that my feet hurt.

I wear short heels. If I wear a 2 inch heel I am suddenly 6 feet tall...

I do have fantasies about wearing a 6 inch heel to a fet club just because it would be fun to be a 6 foot 4 amazon for an evening...

Julia I am only an inch shorter than you and I love being the tallest woman in the room. I wore those black stiletto's out last night, it was my birthday, and we went to dinner, a bunch of places for cocktails, and then dancing etc..until 3 a.m. I think it looks fantastic to see some glamazon with endless legs ending in a sexy fuck me pump strutting through a room, eye level with the men. I always notice women like that instantly. I don't dig men that have an issue with me being taller than them, my ex husband was 5'9", sexy as hell, and he loved it. I also don't mind men shorter than me though, and I know some women do. My femininity doesn't hinge on the height of the man, it's more like the masculinity he exudes. Al Pacino circa 1988? Hell yes. 5'6" or not.

Oh, and my feet don't hurt today either CD. [;)]. My head does though, so I am going to conclude that the prosecco and the martini's were infinitely more harmful than the shoes.[:D].

juliaoceania -> RE: Request made for wearing high heels (8/8/2010 2:32:52 PM)

I would feel very conspicuous and submissive in the position I outline... because while I am used to being noticed because I am tall, the idea of being that tall would make me feel like I was being put on display.... kinda like a circus freak... and to be led by a leash in such a predicament would further the feeling....

Aynne88 -> RE: Request made for wearing high heels (8/8/2010 2:38:10 PM)

Well yes, in that scenario certainly, I am talking about going out for dinner, or to the theatre, etc., glammed up and in high heels. I love it. I also admit to being a bit fond of being conspicuous though.

A little (true) story, from a guy, about high heels, back in 1987 my then G/F and I decided for Halloween to do the whole "gender switch" gig.  Long story-short I spent from about 7:00 pm to 2:30 am in 4 1/2 inch heels, my knees and ankles hurt for a week after wards EASY.  Add in the fact that this was a Saturday night and I had an adult "rough touch" football game the next day I was a hurting pup, and ever since,  I have NEVER begrudged the time or effort or the PAIN women put up with to be attractive for we asshole men.     ;-)

Mishna -> RE: Request made for wearing high heels (8/8/2010 4:44:38 PM)

I love how heels look, and being short, they might help me out once in a while. I'm a chef, though, and on my feet anywhere from 6-13 hours a day. There's no way I could deal with the residual pain from wearing heels. Also, when I'm in a dominant position with a man, almost all of whom are taller than me, it makes the situation more attractive to me, because I am so much shorter and they are submitting to the shorter person.

pogo4pres -> RE: Request made for wearing high heels (8/8/2010 4:50:34 PM)

Good point, unless you are 3 feet tall, there very few men that will be taller than you, when on their knees.   ;-)

Viridana -> RE: Request made for wearing high heels (8/9/2010 2:12:08 PM)

FR

I do envy those women who can wear heels all day, all the time.  As an avid shoe enthusiasist, owning more than 70 pairs of yummylicious stilettos, I'd absolutely LOVE to be able to wear them all the time. However my feet won't allow for more than an evening's length at a time but in between I wear flats, cute flats, not frumpy ones blegh :P

roland23 -> RE: Request made for wearing high heels (8/10/2010 9:10:09 AM)

I will have NOTHING to do with a sub who will not wear at least 3 inch heels. They have to be worn in the bed/motel room. This is non-negotiable. If they wear them outside......they get more from me(intimacy, etc). Most of the vanilla people I know, men and women, straight, bi or gay are into high heels. Why should this be an issue?

sexyred1 -> RE: Request made for wearing high heels (8/10/2010 9:28:30 AM)

If you read the entire thread your question will be answered as to why this is an issue for some.
