Will hug you Chris, but it'll take some serious time before I'm comfortable with Facebook. I opened and closed an account, they stalked me for weeks and continued sending my friends updates to me. Did I mention my account was closed!

Yes! I know people that deleted their account and re opened it 6 months to a YEAR later and all of their pictures, friends lists everything had been saved like they never deleted it in the first place...A little creepy if you ask me

Not all emails claiming to be from facebook are...i get 2-4 fake facebook emails in my spam folder daily.

Hopefully I won't jinx myself by writing this, but I've never had an issue with facebook and spam. I don't have hotmail either, which seems to be a connection, somehow. I love facebook. It's how my family and distant friends stay connected in today's crazy life. It's an easy way to share family photos, and it's totally entertaining for me. But then those on my friends list are always writing clever lines.

I get facebook spam on my other email accounts that arent connected with my facebook. Theres usually a link towards the bottom that says something to the effect of unsubscribe. Just click it and do whatever it says.

As for the people with the issue of deleting facebook accounts, and coming back to them still being there: I think facebook keeps the accounts around for a period of time in case someone has deleters remorse, or a crazy ex deletes yours just to be a dick.
