How's folks? How's your summers going?

I'm going thru stuff. May take a while. Having a big re-digest, re-think, re-do of my attitude, approaches, & etc. It's good. Lots of healthy change, lots of boundary erection, extension, reinforcement, & so on . .. .

Still in my refresher course.....getting 90% or above on all my tests. Will have my nursing license back again by this fall & be back to work. Changed my profile and have new pictures. My life is good right now.

Change is in the midst but it's all good! All my earlier initiatives are on schedule and proceeding well. Although I'm a little undecided about the writing project. I might table the idea and play with another one in the meantime. My personal life couldn't be better. This was the biggest shift of all and it's a breath of fresh air. My hiatus from the scene has come to an end and I look forward to reconnecting with the community.

I am still pleasantly enjoying the afterglow of my beach holiday with Califchick. I am born to be on the beach, that's all there is to it!

I got the Etsy store open and am Under Constructioning, got tiles going for the Artomat project, inventoried my yarn... and not much else! Some would say that was enough.

Personally, I am just being friendly, and talking to strangers. I feel very crone-like, and am not sure if I should encourage that or not. On the one hand, I am really enjoying being single and selfish, on the other, I see that it's equal parts choice and necessity, since there is just not much in my area that interests me as far as men goes. I feel very left out of the social scene, too, because I am not able to host things here.

Yesterday was the third anniversary of my grandmother's death. It really didn't change my life nearly as much as I thought it would!

Teaching tax seminars starts next week. As usual I am stuck with Repos and Debt Forgiveness. Money is my friend!

My summer is going well. Very vanillaish and boring as hell to most people here but I have been enjoying it.

Lots of motocross with the grandsons. It's been really rewarding to watch their progress since spring. Both are starting to place in their races and already starting to ogle bigger bikes....to which my son says "Not yet!" (thank god). After all, they are only 6 and 7.

The puppy will be 20 weeks old tomorrow. When I look at her the word 'puppy' doesn't quite fit any more. She's hit the 50# mark and at first glance resembles a rather smaller adult because her confirmation is so balanced at such a young age. But she is alllllllllll puppy. Clumsy, silly, constantly pushing boundaries, and teething heavily.

Had a small family gathering this weekend and baby sat my two grand daughters for a night. Celebrating the 2yo's birthday. It was a blast to have kids and grands all milling around, playing and just enjoying one another's company. So many families are not as close as we are and I feel so fortunate to really enjoy my kid's and grand's company. And to be able to spend the amount of time with them that I do.

Work is still work. No big drama. It just sucks that it occupies so much of my days, Monday thru Friday........7am to 7pm, and leaves so little time for fun.

Generic Dude passed his second of four big tests on Friday and has scheduled his third and final one needed for licensing, for the end of August. Which mean he will be fully licensed and beginning his new career. He is pretty excited nervous right now as he is turning in his resignation with his current employer tomorrow. He has been with this company off and on for a long time. He began after his full time military career and almost all through his part time military career. But, it really is time for a change and he is at a good place to do it.

The few promising girls that messaged me earlier in July, on the other side, have disappeared in a cloud of smoke.....it must be my perfume....and I am just coasting along living life. I don't have the time or inclination to go hunting so it's all good. Sometimes I wonder if there is something wrong with me for not caring more, I remember the strong hunger and drive I've had in the past, but then it comes back to, I don't much care one way or another right now. I am happy and feeling good about where I am right now. Not going to worry about it.

spent most of the july trying like hell to find new clients and work on presentation, but nothing doing lately.

my oldest friend just had his birthday a few days ago, which concluded his odd resolution to not speak with me for a year.  it came at a good time since the other two people i normally spend my time with have fallen off the map recently.

July was quieter than June, but August will have Me back on the upswing.  It seems that I've jumped back in to promoting events with both feet.  The slave auction that I'm organizing has already taken off like gangbusters, even though it's still two and a half months away.  There has been such a good response so far that it's more coordinating than having to generate interest, which is always a good sign for a (hopefully) successful event.

On the home front, the good news is that clip will be staying home.  At one point, he had received orders for another deployment which would have started in November.  That was changed officially just over the weekend and he was taken off.  It would have been entirely too soon for him to be sent overseas again so I'm very glad that somebody with some sense actually listened.

MP is having more shoulder problems.  It seems that some scar tissue is building up where the surgery was done a few months back.  We've had something of a discussion about the activities that he may just have to face that he won't be able to participate anymore.  He may just have to deal with the idea of only using his right arm if he wants to play.

Speaking of playing, I had an absolute blast at the last play party.  I may have acquired Myself a new regular play partner in addition to My favorite paddling recipient.  She is such an absolute doll that I've taken to calling her Barbie.  That's the character she'll be playing at the slave auction.  Isn't it cute?

I've put My thoughts on finding a needle bottom on hold.  It seems that clip has decided that he likes the activity more than he thought he did, which is absolutely fantastic!  I just love needles and I'm so glad that he now gets......... shall we say, "enthusiastic" about that kind of play.  I'm sure I'll be kept very happy.

FR... the packing and a small amount of moving has started... we spent a wad at IKEA this weekend but my room has a new couch and a wardrobe... I actually don't think even with that and other closet space that I'm going to have enough room... but I haven't broken that news to the boy yet... we'll see when I get things in... maybe I can get rid of a few more things.. who knows...

We had a small setback in moving... a housemate left quite a mess in one room and so we'll have to replace the carpet.  This isn't good.. but it has to be done. It may screw a bit with the moving schedule...

on a play/leather note.. we managed to get out to play the past two weekends on Saturday night... this past weekend we just socialized.  We're trying to get ourselves back into synch with one another...

hope all are well

Well, after getting laid off 3 times from 3 different locations within the same company within a week, we decided to leave Wyoming for a while move back to my home in Idaho.  My home is a mess as we haven't lived here in almost 2 years so most of the first of the month will be spent cleaning.  Second half will probably be spent organizing since I never really finished unpacking from the initial move in and my son seems to have spread contents from each box all over the basement.

Other than that, my website could use some attention.  I have new collars to photograph and post and one to finish.  I found some new sterling silver ends to finish them from my supplier that would work well with padlocks so I am debating on ordering some while we are both laid off or waiting until at least one of us has found another job.

Going to try to get some training as a back hoe operator as the local heavy equipment operators union is screaming for them here locally but finding someone willing to train that actually has a back hoe seems to be a stretch.  Going to ask the unemployment board to help in that regard.

As far as play, we tried some branding using cell popping yesterday, but it seems I don't have a heavy enough hand to make it stay.  So, we have to wait for that to heal to see if any spots remain and try again later.  But it was fun and I love watching him cringe and smile when I run a hand over his bottom.

Awww! Did someone mention a puppy?! lol. I love dogs, and plan on having one someday... when I can afford it, when I can afford the apartment that will allow me to have one. Alas, that won't be for awhile. Have fun with him for me, won't you? Give him a big hug and a kiss?

So far, my August/summer is going alright. I finished a long piece of fanfic this morning, finally getting the epilogue edited. Now I can concentrate on my notes for my upcoming original novel (romance/suspense) which I'll be writing in November for National Novel Writing Month. I soooo can't wait!

Of course, right now, I'm also packing to move to my new apartment (still doesn't accept pets... but it IS a nicer and cheaper place!) the weekend after next. I'm wicked excited about that!

And, oh yeah, my Grand Master is offering $200 for the student who works out the most number of days during August. So, yeah, I'm going to be practicing my Tae Kwon Do a lot this month so I can earn the money, and so that I can work harder at being able to test for my black belt next month. Eeep! Just a touch nervous about that one. lol.

And I know what layoffs are like Ladynslave. A year ago, after getting my first professional job, they laid me off after only six months on the job for budget reasons. They rehired me two months later. Now, a year after that, we're going through the process again. I'm still on the lowest rung of the ladder, so it's possible that come October I won't have a job again. But I don't know, and they're not big on letting people know with enough room to prepare. Oiy.

As for the scene... I just don't have the time right now to invest in anything. I really wish I did though. A few months ago there was someone who was looking VERY promising, but before we even met in person, after we'd been emailing each other frequently for several weeks, he dropped off the map. I would have made time for him this month if he'd stuck around. He could have made my life a lot easier and a lot more fun. But, alas, I guess the old saying "too good to be true" is... well... true. And it's people like that who make me not want to get my hopes up and then crushed again. Oh well.

There's just too much else going on for me to worry about the bad parts of my summer. Right now, I'm off to grab a late lunch of french toast. Who says you can't enjoy a late lunch of breakfast food? Well, they're wrong. Mmmmm..... real maple syrup.....

doing better so far this month. In just over a week, I'm going on vacation and getting away from my job for a bit. The drama queen at work has quit, so there is slightly less stress there. I finally got my root canal and my tooth no longer hurts, so yay for that. Now I just need to get the crown put on. Talking to a boy from the Chicago area that things are going really well with - I think he's coming to visit soon. I've been playing RuneScape again, as I've decided that dungeoneering is fun. I'm hungry as heck now that my tooth doesn't feel like someone is sticking hot needles in it every time I eat.

So, yeah, things are improving - and I'm ready for it.

hi, it's the former PanthersMom here, back like a bad penny!

well, been awhile since i participated in roll call. the kids and i have moved from my home in cleveland to a new place outside of toledo ohio. it's in much better shape, one floor so i can finally do my own laundry again and the kids love it. it's a rural area compared to the inner city of cleveland, takes over a mile to get to the "corner store". my youngest is enjoying the lake here, he's been fishing every day and brought home a bluegill he is proudly displaying in our 75 gallon tank, the first fish he's ever caught. my older boys are enjoying the relaxing atmosphere of the new neighborhood and looking forward to better schools.

on the personal front, my life sucks, lol. i'm so busy with all the things i need to do i haven't had time to settle down and make friends or go out and meet folks. the ex and i still talk, as a matter of fact last night i went to visit his mom. had a good time laughing and talking for a couple hours. he's welcome to come back anytime, and he knows it. things might be a bit different if he ever does, lol, but that's to be determined. just one of the many possibilities that exist. in the mean time, i'm talking with people, trying to make connections with some of the locals especially. it's nice to have a base of information when you relocate into a new area, where to go, what places to avoid and so on, who to contact for services and such. after 46 yrs in cleveland, it's a challenge to learn my way around. but it's something i needed, a fresh start, a better home, a better neighborhood, good schools for my kids and a place i can relax in, eventually, lol. now i just need to find doctors, dentists, a mechanic, a vet, and on and on. ugh what a job!

Chell

I'm dreading the coming months. I -despise- moving, and it's even more complicated since it looks like SR and I will be splitting our combined household of almost 15 years into two households this year (it's not a bad thing for us -- we're still companions and family... we may just not be living together for a little while, while SR sows some wild oats now that her offspring is fully grown and living in another state!). HOWEVER, despite it being a good thing, and something I think will be a lot of fun for her, I -hate- moving, and hate the whole process of having to find a place to move TO, and packing, loading, and unloading... YUCK.

Anyway, I'm looking at new residences, and have become -very- active with two critique groups here in town that are SpecFic focused. It's forcing me to spend more time on my writing, since the groups meet a total of 3 times a month, and I have to have new work for each meeting. *grins*

On the down-side, my new publisher purchased the option on the 3rd book of the trilogy I was writing, and purchased the 'backlist' titles as well (Book 1 and Book 2 that were already published by my previous publishers) on the premise that, come spring, they'd be releasing all three books as an "omnibus" volume -- all three books in a single volume. NOW, however, they've decided that they would prefer that I take the 850,000 words incorporated in the 3 volumes and "condense" it into a single book of ~250,000 words... in other words, re-write the entire story as a new, single book instead of a trilogy... and since they own it, if I don't, I'm considered in "breach of contract", since they're willing to release the 3rd portion of the story under their terms (which is how they get away with THEM not being in breach of contract) *sighs*

Needless to say, July was interesting, and August looks like it will be full of interesting challenges as well... and I hope that I find the right place to move to by the time the October move date comes around.

Calla

August has been warm and sluggish so far, but I did get most of the lawn mowed today. Soon, it will have cooled off enough that I can get back to my walking regimen. Back to school is just around the corner, which means the younglings will leave me in peace for a few hours each day (*WIN*). Thinking about going back to school to further my wildlife degree(s) (*WIN* pt. 2), which will end up enabling my relocation plans (*WIN* pt. 3). Sleeping better at night, mostly, and learning to love myself and believe in what I'm doing (and why) more and more each day. Sending love and peace out to everyone who reads this.xo

Second to Lady Pact... Did you ever encounter those Marvel comics I mentioned?

As for me... I am here, alert and oriented by three out of four. Ski season starts tomorrow for me. I am not as excited as I have been in the past but there is alot to do till the snow guns shoot.

Repectfully,

LH repo me. This retirement thing sucks. At least at work I had a lunch break. I need to find a job so I can rest. Im going to OCC for computer security for homeland security. Will probably end up doing consulting on it. So far the unemployment is holding out. Huggs to ya.
