Status: offline 		The other day i was teasing Master (he allows that0. I was in a weird mood. We were playing a computer game he usually beats me in annd he did not that day. I was teasing him about that, but i did not let it go i kept teasing him. Finally he had enough of my teasing, He turned away from the computer and just gave me the "look". That shut me up right away, i know that look, he did not have to say a word.

Does your Dom/me have a certain look that they give you that says that far and no further? Does it work or do you try to push it?

And, yes sometimes i push just a tiny bit to get the look and the voice..

Status: offline 		I don't think in my case it's a role thing, but he does definitely have a change of voice that indicates he would really prefer I shut the hell up about whatever I'm going on about. He has shut me down a few times in conversations (I have him as well - once), what's funny about it is I can't quite figure out whether to be aroused or annoyed when it happens. If I really feel like I have something that I need to convey to him, I will push it, but rarely, and again, that's not a role thing in my opinion, it's a relationship thing.

"The look" is purely sexual and pretty awesome.

Status: offline 		yes he has teh look and a voice and yes it works and i would never push it as i know if it gets tot he look i have pushed too far done somthing i really shouldnt have and to push it will be to land myself with some trouble

Status: offline 		Yes but then I think everyone has that 'look' or the change of voice tone to make someone aware they have had enough. Althought admittingly when its your own dominant it is far more intimidating and generally gets the desired effect..eg the submissive should know enough is enough.

I generally dont push him when I do get the look..i like having skin!!!!

Generally I found there were two 'looks' or rather two variations of 'the look' from most of my dominant partners.
1) 'say another word and I'll make you regret it' (in the good way!)
2) 'say another word and I'll leave and you won't see me for hours'

When it comes to 1, I'd push sometimes, because I could tell part of him (and me) wanted that motivation for some rough play time. If it's 2, never, usually it's an immediate apology and some penance for going beyond what i should have.

This is outside of the condition it is a serious 'relationship' issue though, those are entirely different matters.

No, but my mom did when I was a kid. I hated "the look", it meant i was about a nano second away from getting my ass beaten

Fortunately for me, I was always vigilant for "the look" and I can count on one hand how many spanking I got, my brothers were not so smart and ignored "the look" often and were spanked a lot more than I was, although this served as a good example as to how to prevent being spanked

Status: offline 		I call it "the stare" and yep, it's one very powerful disciplinary tool. The fact that it works 99% of the time without having to resort to sterner measures says the relationship is strong and in a happy place. Mind you, sometimes I hafta ramp up the voltage and raise one eyebrow with it (think Mr Spock). And a sub's response to the stare is quite empowering as a Dominant, actually....

Icing on the cake; "the stare" works in public without nosey nillas ever knowing anything is happening at all....

Like Julia said except it was my dad who had "the look".  And also my brother and sisters weren't as smart as me to know " the look " wasn't a good thing.

Status: offline 		I wouldn't say it's so much a "look" I get when I've pushed too far. I would say I get more of an "uuuggghhhh" from him and much like ProlificNeeds commented about the two looks, I get two different "uuugggghhhhs" that have the same meaning.
....and HELL NO I don't ignore the second "uuuggghhhh"

I've never gotten "The Look" from Him, but I'm sure I would recognize it for what it is if I did, I'm sure it would work and, no, I would not push it.

You are so right, there is a difference. And I would not think of messing with #2. Pushing # 1 is fun now and again.
