Status: offline 		A sub asked me this and while I have my own estimate I wanted other opinions:
Wondering perhaps by way of a rough percentage guess, how many experienced doms or masters have or desire just one sub/slave
Note she is assuming MALE dom/female subs.
Doms please give me what YOU want and what you think the percentage would be

Well, since I have exactly one, I think the obvious answer is that I want exactly one. I'm toying with adding a second in a very casual fashion, but I'm more than content with how things are now.

How many MDoms want one slave?
I honestly have no idea, but I'd guesstimate it at maybe 40%... possibly higher... I'm trying to estimate how many younger males out there THINK it sounds great to have a harem but have not actually done it. Honestly if you took that factor out of the equation and reworded the question to simply be, "How many would be happy in a monogamous relationship?" then I think the answer would be 80%+

Status: offline 		I wouldn't estimate a guess.  The thing is, what we are exposed to through community and BDSM events is not an estimation of the whole.  There are plenty of people out there doing this thing in their own way that we will never see.  Since it is completely an uneducated guess on My part, I will refrain.

As a poly Dominant Myself, I understand the time necessary that is needed to invest in multiple relationships/dynamics.  Since I am already married, I've found that My number of s-types is two.  (Keep in mind that I do not consider play partners in this number, as they are not the same situations.)  Any more than that and I seem to run short on the time that I need to put into the individual dynamics.

Almost all questions requiring a numerical answer have as that correct answer the number 12.

Status: offline 		I think more people are monogamous than not. Most people have limited time to spend with multiple partners. If you have children, then that adds to the time constraint. If Joe plays with Sarah on Mondays and Jessica on Thursdays, then needs to work late Mondays and Wednesdays, and then wants to be an active participant in his children's lives, he can't be out every night of the week. Helping with homework, carpooling, coaching or just attending sports. If you have a family, then something's got to give. To me, the kids come first. Sacrificing them so you can play footsie with multiple girls makes you someone not worth respecting.

Obviously people without commitments are in a different boat and can play with as many people as they have the energy for.

Anything more than that just wouldn't feel right - I don't want to share my sub with someone else, and why should she have to share me with someone else.

At this moment one will suffice and I don't see that changing. I'm not opposed to other dynamics but they have their own nuances and it isn't practical at present.

If you based your perceptions upon what's stated on the Internet the number would seem quite large. But in all truth I don't believe it's that big. I'd be guesstimating and there's no way to substantiate that with actual data.

Status: offline 		Since slaves would be generally owned by the home, my ideal is one male and one female domestic slave. I have no idea what the percentages are as this does not interest me in the least. My experience in  the local community shows that the bigger the dog the more fleas want to suck the blood and then leave to find another.. Not my scene these days.
