Sex is Sex... it makes no difference if it is someone that is not involved in any sort of Kink or not... I dislike the term Vanilla because it has been used in a dergoatry manner for quite sometime.  Roles during sex are irrelevant if both parties are getting what they need from the interaction.

I'm not sure what I'd do without vanilla sex.. then again I still have a tendency to bite/scratch/hair pull whatever, but I've always been like that whether I was "vanilla" or "lifestyler".. vanilla's what you make of it, I just like rough vanilla.. more like a chocolate chip ice cream, still vanilla but with a twist

What an interesting thread, i think.  Master is always Master.  i am always slave. He is always in charge, and he fucks me whichever way he prefers, with toys or without toys, in whichever position he prefers.  If "vanilla sex" means no domination whatsoever, then no, we don't have vanilla sex.  If it means sex without toys, but with him still the authoritarian, then yes we have vanilla sex.

But damn, no one told me i could have ice cream during it!!

Of course, but depends how you define vanilla. I have never not been submissive ever from as long ago as I can remember so every act of what people might call vanilla sex has been  a submissive act for me whoever I've been with because of what is in my head at the time.
