ORIGINAL: Twoshoes So is it weird if I'm straight and male, but I found all the straight guys more appealing than the one gay guy posted above? In order to find out if "it" is weird, we'd have to run a true experiment. You get a stack of photos and get to sort them into two parts - "more appealing" and "less appealing." Then we count up which are which. Of course, we need straight men that you have never been exposed to.... did that come out right? Also Coulter is kinda short (height-wise) and study after study has shown that both men and women "go for" the taller men over shorter..... so, your well-documented bias toward height may be what you are mistaking for a bias toward straight men. To "control" for everyone's bias toward height, we'd need some short straights and taller gays in the original stack, now wouldn't we? Also, I guess we'd need Kinsey ranks 1 and 6 - no 2s,3s,4s, or 5s..... (Kinsey 1 = TOTALLY straight; Kinsey 6 = TOTALLY gay.) Many, many movies stars and actors - which our list above is heavy with - some musicians.... many of our list project an appeal to all genders and orientations. Depp is probably best example of that.... so, to control for the projection factor, first we have to get our sample to be sorted by all kinds of folk as to gay or straight........ THEN, and only then, we can present YOU the sample and see how "weird" your perceptions are. I don't think we can find funding, so I'll just go with Coulter is short and most people "go for" height.
