This is one of the best "Green" ideas I've seen in a while. Truly thinking outside the box. It has the potential to be feasible but also a lot of variables to consider before any possible implementation. Some of the downsides are discussed (and somewhat solved) in the attached video.

One of the first benefits I see is that this could easily power electric cars. Next is that cars could be made significantly lighter. Even lighter than the current hybrids and true electrics, because there wouldn't be much need even for batteries. I'll leave it open for discussion.

What this needs is for some town or subdivision to commit to it. See what the cost per panel gets down to when mass produced and see what issues arise in re wiring existing infrastructure to support the technology. I've read a lot about ubiquitous power generation and this seems to be a huge step in that direction.

A very interesting idea, indeed.  I'm a little dubious about how they'd implement something like this, however.  It would seem construction time would be out of this world.  I can also imagine there might be areas where it wouldn't really be feasible... roadways inside large metropolitan downtowns where the streets don't ever really see the light of day for all the tall buildings.
