ORIGINAL: juliaoceania I so rarely have insomnia. I think part of the reason is because I meditate a lot. I lay down and shut off my brain and sleep. If I am excited about something that is happening the next day I might have trouble staying asleep (yes, I am still like a little kid at Christmas sometimes), and while it is annoying, I will still be able to put myself back to sleep... I'm exactly the same way, and when I read threads like these I remind myself of how very lucky I am. It's very rare that I have trouble falling asleep, and when it does happen, it's usually because there's something going on tomorrow that I can't wait to get at. Most nights, I'm asleep within 5 minutes after turning out the light - 10 at the most. I've been fighting a pretty severe depression for most of the last 8 or 9 months, and even with that, there were only a handful of nights early on that I had trouble getting to sleep. Light goes out, head hits pillow, poof! It's morning already!
