And why should a non-american law degree have standing where american law is practiced?

Ah, but he was a Rhodes scholar.

Moonhead -> RE: Liberal Hate Speech (8/9/2010 5:31:29 AM)

I don't think he was reading Law as his Rhodes in any case: wasn't it whatever they had instead of Politics and Philosophy in the '60s?

I just found poopy coming out with that line about him fleeing the country after sexually assaulting somebody a bit rich coming from someone who's making a big deal about the fact that he didn't get his Rhodes sheepskin from Oxford. If he wants to make a big deal of sticking rigorously to the facts, spouting drivel like that is a bit hypocritical. Still, one rule for him and a stricter one for the hateful liberal speakers, I suppose.

Twisty, you are the one who stated that Clinton "did" get a sheepskin from Oxford.
One rule for you and a stricter one for the "hateful" independant speakers I suppose. And what do you care about "liberals" anyway?
Yeah I guess Clinton just decided "not to graduate from Oxford" all on his own. Just like he *decided* "not to inhale." Right?
I saw him on the news the other week and his nose is bigger and redder than W.C. Fields'. His brother Roger said of him once; "When it comes to cocaine Bill's got a nose like a Hoover vacuum cleaner!"
And everytime he goes over to Ireland to the mansion and hangs out with "Bono" it gets bigger and redder for some reason.

Vincent, since when do Americans have to be "nice" to Leftists/ Communists? How about Nazis,.. the KKK,..al qeada?
And I wasn't trying to be "slanderous" I was making fun of them because it's so easy!

Sorry to say I don't see anything amusing in your use of those terms. So, making fun is a stretch especially in a thread where the OP starts out with the shakey premise that only Libs can get away with being politically incorrect and claims they call all "true conservatives" racists, which is nonsense.

I presume the OP, however silly his premise is, complains about the lack of civility on the P&R Board. So, to answer your question directly, it is not a question of when to be "nice" to anyone but when to be civil to someone's freedom to express an opinion even if they are "Leftists/Communists" hiding as you say under the blanket of Liberalism. The answer to that imo is all the time because Freedom of speech is what we are about.

Additionally, I also find it kinda queasy that you see Leftist/Communists hiding under a blanket. That sounds so 1950s Joe McCarthy's "I have a list here of 200 State Department employees..." Or HUAC's "Are you now or have you ever been a member of ....?" I thought we were past all that nonsense and we were..... until it was revived in the 2008 presidential campaign.

Seems like some see enemies hiding everywhere. Or they see people "who are not like us." Or people who are not "true Americans." All insinuating, suggesting some dark conspiracy. The old, worn out "enemies within" gambit has been taken out and dusted off. But really all quite slanderous and in an underhanded manner.

Sorry that I can't be with you on this one, Popeye.

Vincent, thankyou for your concern old bean.
And I wouldn't be too concerned about the "Left's" ability to speak out.
They're very adept at hiding out under *someone else's* blanket.

You've got a source you can cite that he was deported for sexual assault, then?

Twisty, THERE YOU GO AGAIN! Did I say he was *"DEPORTED*?"

Moonhead -> RE: Liberal Hate Speech (8/9/2010 11:50:26 AM)

As you seem to have removed the completely incorrect statement you made now, it's impossible to confirm just how far out where the buses don't run you took it.
Looks like I'm not the only one twisting stuff, doesn't it?

mnottertail -> RE: Liberal Hate Speech (8/9/2010 12:18:32 PM)

Well here has been a whole thread of hate speech against liberals, maybe we should do one for the conservatives, so they don't feel irrelevant.

Jeffff -> RE: Liberal Hate Speech (8/9/2010 12:38:42 PM)

Haven't you heard?

We don't need any facts here anymore.

All we need are opinions.

We are now all equal because all opinions are equally valid.

I feel the warm glow of a socialist board.
