AAkasha -> jobs for male subs (4/19/2006 8:54:34 AM)

Is it true that many male submissives are in high powered jobs?

Male subs - what do you do for a living? How many people do you manage?  Are you an "in charge" person in the office?

talltxsub -> RE: jobs for male subs (4/19/2006 9:50:00 AM)

It does seem to be true...I am a lawyer and definitely the "in charge" type at work.

dave1212 -> RE: jobs for male subs (4/19/2006 11:59:31 AM)

Well AAkasha, i don't class my job as "high powered" but my job description is "Landfill Supervisor" basically i operate a large 50 tonne machine on a Landfill Site here in the UK but i am also responsible for up to 6 men's safety at any one time, responsible for all machinery/vehicular  movement on site and all aspect's of health and safety /first aid on site..
Sound's sort of important i suppose..[8|]

My experience is that it's about 50/50.  It will be interesting to see what the replies will be like.

Just to throw my hat in the ring......No high powered job here. I work in a 2 man IT Dept. for a medium size company. I suppose there is some power associated witht the job since I can determine if someones computer works or not LOL.

littlesarbonn -> RE: jobs for male subs (4/19/2006 7:25:10 PM)

I'm an overpaid computer geek who does complex data analysis for a hospital corporation. Lately, I've been thinking of changing my title to "Sits In Meetings All Day Manager".

subgarfield -> RE: jobs for male subs (4/19/2006 7:45:19 PM)

Would not classify myself as 'high powered' however in past having managed two businesses i now own a successful business and in the vanilla world am in charge, assertive, with absolute confidence and a risk taker.

In my submission i will also test limits and jump out of the envelope, however relish relinquishing to the authority of another, being tested and controlled.

I've noticed about the same thing.  I have been approached by many high-powered, hard-driven types like lawyers, CEO's, division managers, business owners, etc.  They seem to crave relief from being in charge all the time.

I have also been approached by about the same number of submissive males with average type jobs.  There have even been a few unemployed, underachieving free-loaders who are looking for a Domme to support them, but fortunately they have been few and far between and they don't get the time of day from Me.

someuniquename -> RE: jobs for male subs (4/20/2006 8:44:20 AM)

I'm self employed.  I'm in charge of no one but I have no boss either.  I do some part time work as a bouncer for some extra income and I do the dominating there.  I'm not submissive in my every day life at all, I'm just really turned on by strong, dominant woman and to handle me, they really need to be strong.

tasha_tart -> RE: jobs for male subs (4/20/2006 3:32:51 PM)

Not sure it qualifies as high powered, but I supervise 8-10 people (with legal responsibilities WRT their health and safety) and carry the responsibilty for the operation of several hundred million dollars of equipment that no longer runs "hands-free" as it was designed.

That, and the need to avoid telling those who clearly need it to go f**k themselves, certainly makes it a high stress job much of the time.

I'm a unix DB administrator at IBM (just started here about 3 months ago, hence my brief absence) It's not exactly a "powerfull" position, but theres a great deal of stress involved, considering I'm in charge of 3 accounts (Campbells Soup, Pepperidge Farm, and Godiva Chocolate)

DelightMachine -> RE: jobs for male subs (4/20/2006 7:46:21 PM)

I won't say what I do for a living, but I've had a number of powerful people quaking in their boots, hoping I'd treat them right, and I absolutely loved it every time.

MstrTiger -> RE: jobs for male subs (4/20/2006 8:27:01 PM)

I think overall more slaves in high powered jobs approach me, I agree with what MysticFireTopaz said in her post.

Real0ne -> RE: jobs for male subs (4/20/2006 9:46:58 PM)

i do many things, ranging from consulting companies in various process controls and procedures, to web design, custom software, automated process, machinery design, investments, and a host of other areas i like to putz around with.

mantis65 -> RE: jobs for male subs (4/21/2006 12:02:36 AM)

Never high powered.  Supervisor, yes.  Leader, yes. This was in the past as right now I'm just a working stiff and liking it, for now.

I can be a leader, and do it well. But truthfully the way I'm wired, I like the idea of being the "right hand man" type. Work hard, have great responsibility, do a great job, and make the boss look good. That’s what I’m looking for

Hmmm, I wonder why I think like that? Somehow that whole concept looks familiar. Hmmmm!

hairslave -> RE: jobs for male subs (4/25/2006 8:03:30 PM)

i an a self employed handyman. i work alone. Since i was a child i have always been drawn to smarter females. Have always wanted to belong to a smarter woman for life. Most woman seem to not have any use for a guy who is not as smart as them. Somewhere out there ,there is a smart women who will see me for what i can be for her, and not how smart i am. For what it is wroth.

MistWalker -> RE: jobs for male subs (4/25/2006 8:13:08 PM)

not high powered in any sense of the word. house boy more often then not, i do work now and then, carpentry, floors, whatever  i happen to get offered if i have the time need the money.  but due to a major disability since childhood more often then not i do not work at all. save some handy work. if anything i considermyself something of a craftsman, occasional artist, handyaman, and house boy..  decidedly low power job..*shrugs* works for me though.

KarbonCopy -> RE: jobs for male subs (4/25/2006 9:09:05 PM)

I fuse steel together.

colosubseeking -> RE: jobs for male subs (4/25/2006 9:15:30 PM)

Well, i'm in college at the moment, studying to be a petroluem engineer. In all likeliness, i will be working for a major oil company like ExxonMobil or Halliburton or some such when i graduate, supervising drilling/production operations somewhere. So.. i guess you could say that i'm on the track to a "high powered" job, but i've got a little ways to go before i get there.
