Okay, let me play devil's (or Domme's) advocate - beyond sessions, do they help the lifestyle? My first opinion is that they do, but my experience may be biased. I've connected with pros to learn how to use more advanced toys and pick up a skill or two. And, I've been to several play parties hosted by a pro, granted it's a business for her, but it helped me network within my community.

Wickad -> RE: Pro Dommes (4/19/2006 10:19:51 PM)

What follows is my opinion!

I am not a fan of ProDommes.  I have met a few and they are great folks.  I have met a few and they are glorified whores.

The first problem I have is that mysterious line - when does ProDomming become prostitution?  If a ProDomme is being paid $300 for her services and is offered and extra $500 if the guy gets to jerk off on her shoes and lick it off.... well, that might be really hard to turn down if it's been a bad month or if you've had some unexpected bills.  This slippery slope once started on is really hard to pull back from.

The second problem I have is with the name 'ProDomme'.  This name implies that the woman is dominating her clients.  I do not see how someone can be the Dominant if the client gets to determine the when, where, how, how often, with which toy, what words to be used, etc.  I agree that this is a service but I do not see it as Domination.

Just some opinions for the forum.

I beleive in NYC the law says that Professional Domination is a legal service.  However, if there is an exchange of money and also an exchange of bodily fluids, (not quoting the law here) by either or both persons involved then it becomes prostitution.

I still have some mixed feelings about who is in control of things, when a safe word is involved and limits are outlined. Whether a slave is paying or not.

Also, if my live in slave buys me something that I want or something he wants me to use the next time we play and presents it as a gift, then is considered an exchange of services? I mean where is the line drawn?

Until then,
Mistress NINA

I know I do not need to explain myself, but I was directed to this website by someone who I knew personally and who had mistaken me with another Mistress who uses the same name on here and resembles me in appearance. After many years exploring the scene, I was concerned for my reputation, and a little insulted for the mix up.

I since have gotten dozens of emails requesting my services as a professional, which I am no longer involved in.

Until then,

Really a live in slave? Doesn't that imply a domestic or personal arrangement? Or am I wrong? Sounds like a comitment each other to me, albeit a kinky one.

It really surprises me how many pros ask this question with no appearent clue pertaining to a non bussiness relationship. Must be from turning too many tricks. Dinner with my vanilla girlfriend doesn't mean I expect her to have sex with me because I paid for her meal. or because she lives with me. Hell I'd be offended, and seriously upset, if that is what she was thinking.

Pro-dommes (and the depiction of them) have probably done more to advance S/M than anything else. The same as how online "porn" has done more for the tech advancement of the web. If you are learning from your pro "friends" and enjoy them and that expereince, by all means than its a good thing for you and productive.

NINAakaProdomme -> RE: Pro Dommes (4/21/2006 3:41:56 AM)

And why would I do that? I clearly state in my profile that I am no longer prodomming.

There are many places to solicit business if that is what I was doing.  And many subs willing to pay for play, that also know about those websites.

What is everyone's problem with Prodomming? Why do you lifestyler's feel so threatened if prodommes are here? Shouldn't the information on these forums be available for all who enjoy consenting s/m? It is still considered consensual if both know up front that a tribute is involved.

Don't you find  it refreshing to inform and share with others about the safety, techniques, and different s/m diversions? Isn't this what the forum here is about?  So why eliminate anyone from that information? I wish I had such a website to revert to when I was prodomming, because even after being both slave to a Master for 6 years and dom for over 10 years, I am still learning new things.

Unfortunately, judgments of others, even those who are enjoying the same kink you do,  don't change. Just go to any medical website and type in the word s/m fetish and see how abnormal we are viewed among those in a vanilla society.

Binding someone to a cross, or spread eagle to a bed, flogging, nipple clamps, hoods, so forth and so on.. is not the same as turning tricks.  Turning tricks doesn't require the need for all the gadgets, nor does it entail the safety and responsibility that the dominant has over their submissive, even a paying one.  Both are risky of course. But come on! Sounds like you are the one clueless, but its ok. You are not alone in your assumtion.

Were not.
Welcome Nina.
Hell even prostitutes who turn tricks would be accepted here Im sure. I mean isent that a alternate lifestyle as well  or even a business even if its against the stupid laws of the land its still a viable and profitable business. But do not throw in the both professions or lifestyles as one. They are completely different. Nor look down on the people who practice either for We all who choose to live an alternate lifestyle more then likely are breaking the laws of our city, county, state, country when practicing it not to mention societies morals. Learn to understand that which you are not a part of and learn to tolerate such practice even if its not for you.
And FYI Nina, I do beleive the (you lifestylers) comment includes Yourself.
Ive had occation to use a few of My associates who are Pro Dommes to attend to sessions with My slaves and use them in photo shoots of alternate lifestyles. Where there is a need for an item, there is a person to fill that need in all the diversity of business ventures. Pro Dominants and Pro sub/slaves fill a nitch regardless of kink, gender, fetish or SM lifestyle. JMO
