I’m sometimes offended to be called a dom, as there seems so may meanings to the word and most don’t seem to fit me or what I want.

Which was the point to the question, to get people think that there is more than one way a man can be dominant and that not all of them are useful to subbies and their submissive needs.

I’m not the generic dom.

I didn't know there "was" a generic dom. I may be missing something, but aren't we all unique?

a dom that has a personality that makes me care for Him, and want to serve him. as katy said, one that does not get his knowledge from books of fiction and understands the vanilla requirements on my life. One who appreciates me. one that tells me i'm a good girl. a sensual one. one that tells me with a look and a raised eyebrow rather than a shout that i've done bad. stuff like that. hope it helped.

Going with the assumption that this is a serious question... There are as many answers to your question as their are subs. Useful? Types? Subbies?

There are as many different types of Doms out there as there are men who are dominant. Each is unique in their chosen role.

To the question which types are more useful; i am confused, useful for what? Yes dominants do serve a purpose for their subs/slaves but don't you have this backwards? Isn't it the sub/slave's part to be useful to the Dom? I always this to be considered part of serving my owner, are you saying the Master should be of service to the slave?

In any relationship each satisfies certain needs in the other/s which hopefully they find useful. So yes we are all used by others with whom we have relationships. If not they will seek fulfillment elsewhere.

I tend to prefer an equal exchange in a relationship. I am currently a slave in a 24/7 real time M/M/s relationship. To imply that i use my owners i find highly distasteful to me.

Here is the definition of TPE.

Total Power Exchange or TPE is a derivative of the concept of power exchange in a D/s relationship. The term refers to a relationship where the dominant has complete authority and influence over the submissive's life. TPE is referred to as 24/7 though some consider these terms to have different definitions.
