Than why is it not named Atlanta?

Is there an East Point Atlanta?

Can I find it with my GPS?

East Point is a suburb of Atlanta it is a city of it's own with a mayor a city council police dept fire dept and everything else a city needs.

It Mapquests perfectly well. I don't know why your GPS is too chinicy to list a city population of about 40,000.

It's down on the South side of Atlanta West of the Airport.

Easy enough to find out if you really wanted to know.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/East_Point,_Georgia

"The City of East Point is southwest of the neighborhoods of Atlanta in Fulton County, Georgia, United States. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 39,595. Census estimates of 2007 indicate a population of 42,940. The city is named for being at the opposite end of the former Atlanta & West Point Railroad from West Point, Georgia."

Archer -> RE: Where is East Point? (8/11/2010 2:01:22 PM)

East Point GA is to Atlanta GA as Shawnee KS is to Kansas City KS.

pahunkboy -> RE: Where is East Point? (8/11/2010 2:13:27 PM)

it is the section 8 mecca of the east.

Archer -> RE: Where is East Point? (8/11/2010 2:21:21 PM)

I can tell you why you have that many folks applying for section 8 houseing.

East Point is one of the farthest South cities in Fulton County, just north of Clayton County, where the school Board screwed stuff up so badly that the school systems lost accredidation a couple years back. Any chance to move from Clayton County to Fulton County is taken.

Thank you Stef.  You are as ascerbic as ever.

So, I thought that it was enough that I learned capital cities and States.  Now I need to learn ghetto areas?

Is there a book that I can buy?

If we told you there was, would you be able to find it?  (now THAT was acerbic [:D])

A ghetto?

"While some areas of the city would be considered blighted, East Point has seen a great resurgence in recent years with new businesses and residences popping up all over the city. A large new shopping center, Camp Creek Marketplace, has opened on the city's western side and more and more older World War II era homes have been purchased and remodeled, especially in the Jefferson Park neighborhood. A new multiplex, the first in many years in East Point, opened in Camp Creek in December 2007."

No.  I only look for scince fiction.  East Point does not seem to qualify as that.[>:]

Aylee -> RE: Where is East Point? (8/11/2010 7:17:31 PM)

I do not know which area is a ghetto or not.  That is why I asked the question.   Now I know.  East point is not a ghetto.
