virginsacrifice -> Moving to NW Ohio (8/12/2010 5:33:02 PM)

I am moving to NW Ohio in the next couple of weeks for work and would love it if anyone who is in the area could offer advice, suggestions, etc. I am looking for a place and it would of course be nice to get to know some people in the area.

Depends where in NW Ohio - are you Toledo or Tiffin?

virginsacrifice -> RE: Moving to NW Ohio (8/12/2010 6:44:00 PM)

I will be moving to the Toledo area.

Rent, don't buy.  Not until you've lived there, say, a year and have a feeling for the market.

virginsacrifice -> RE: Moving to NW Ohio (8/12/2010 8:29:11 PM)

agreed Thorn. I don't really believe in buying I like my life being portable.

Greetings.....

While I am not from there....exactly, I grew up somewhat near there. Check out Cedar Point in Sandusky, OH on Lake Erie. It is an amusement park worth a day or two's visit. Other than that, enjoy lots of Amish if you get out of the city and go south in any direction. You have Detroit, Cleveland and Columbus for the nearby big cities. Beyond that....not much to do in Toledo. There was a song about that....wasn't it something about spending a week in Toledo one day? <grins>

Be well....

Malkinius

I had my car accident at mile marker 100.      It seems that light post has had a few.   i80.   From the limited time I seen that area- it seemed like a decent area.  I was tho surprised to hear there are bad areas there.

I also had heard of Cedar Point.   But frankly when those places get too much name recognition- they cease to be fun.   The Islands by Lake Erie sounded wonderful- I never did get there tho.

oh-  note that they do ticket alot on i80- in Ohio- particularly between Toledo and Cleveland.

Put-In-Bay is a nice place to visit and has some historical sites too.

For Amish, you have to go south and a bit east...for instance, Degraff, down on 235.

Move to South Carolina, Hotter than the Hinges on Hades during the Summer and Winter

I've heard there are some really cool people in Amherst which is right around there. Of course that depends on what you consider cool.

I can't get much more specific than that. If you came to Cleveland I could tell you what neighborhoods to avoid, but not out there.
