Have you noticed, they're not merely shorter than we are, but their bodies have different proportions? I just saw one in Caffe' Nero, this chap had legs that were less than a quarter of his overall height. So, wouldn't that mean his knee/ankle joints are as small as well? Or that they have problems walking after 50 or so, because their legs have borne twice the load that ours did, proportionately?

Very often they suffer crippling diseases in mid to later life, yes.
