City of God was AWESOME!  The Commitments, eh.  But mentioning City of God makes me want to check out The Barbarian Invasions and The History Boys.

Cheers!

Brad Pitt was great in Fight Club but better in Snatch, imo.

Snatch was awesome, but Fight Club was WAY FUCKING better!   So there, mother fuckah!

A few movies I would like to add that have not been mentioned yet.

Boondock Saints
Pulp Fiction (or anything Quentin Tarantino in my opinion)
Army of Darkness
George A. Romero's Night of the Living Dead
Shaun of the Dead
Running Scared (sort of a modern day Alice in Wonderland kind of movie)
Stranger than Fiction
Underworld
Enemy at the Gates
Poolhall Junkies

And some of the ones that have already been mentioned would have to be

Full Metal Jacket
A Clockwork Orange
Monty Python's Holy Grail (or any of their work for that matter)
Pan's Labrynth

There are lot more that I think are good but those are some of the favorites off the top of my head

Dude!  You are TOTALLY rockin' the Casbah with that line up!  WOOHOO!  Can you say Yellowtail Shiraz?

Yeah, Fight Club had a message .... stand up and be a man and the split personality was great!! Snatch was funnier and had better Director's cuts. But I wasn't comparin' the films, DS.

I was comparin' Brad Pitt to Brad Pitt. How can you beat Brad as a crazy mano a mano gypsy he was in Snatch? No way.

I can't do better than "mother fuckah!" without using the C-word. Don't push me.

I love those two films but they were tame compared to City of God. Different genre altogether. Much less action, much more intellect.
