Are you a Geek ? Just for fun, interest or other, if you care, have a go at this test developed by Cambridge psychologist; Simon Baron-Cohen ( related to Ali G ?) and others to determine a possible guide to an inquirer's AQ. I got a score of Forty, but I already knew the answer, but it is not as bad as that. Anyone Game?

The test assesses five different areas. Autistic-like responses will show poor social skill, attention switching, communication and imagination, and an exaggerated attention to detail. In other words, geekiness. You scored 14. The ranking below provides some idea of where that AQ fits in. I guess 14 is not bad.

I only scored 12 on the geek front.... hmmmmm... I thought I was a geek!

Scored 21. But that's because I have ADD and generalized anxiety disorder whereas they're assuming any indications in that area mean Asperger's.

I scored 34. I do not know that I am a geek, nor do I have Asperger's (my brain is more extreme than the Asperger's brain, though there are similarities). I do know that I am a supergenius. Edited to add: I consider this test to be a fuzzy test.

31 Yeah, I don't like social gatherings... they bore me to death, unless there is a purpose beyond gabbing each other stupid, getting drunk or otherwise. I'm guessing that is why my number is such.

Hmmm, illustrating the reason I don't go to MENSA meetings anymore [and why computer scientists are a hard limit] . . . the weirdest [and last!] one was a lovely formal dinner party, but still some didn't come down to eat, preferring to play video games on the giant screen in a small room upstairs. Then when someone yelled 'Buffy's on!', more than half the table including the hosts galloped away in the middle of the meal to watch a TV re-run of a ten-year old movie in a room that can't accomodate everyone: amusing, yet literally alienating. And yes, it's a great movie, but given a real-time choice, I'd far rather talk to humans. Never found anyone beddable there!
