Status: offline 		Here's what I been working on.

My mom was getting rid of a lot of her fabrics, and I made ornaments, here's one of the completed ones.

These are two book markers I made and will sew a ribbon into after I was done with the square patterned ornaments.

These are felt stickers I am putting wonder under onto and turning them into iron ons to make my shirt cuter, and express my little girl side. I think, however I want to put them on shirts of coordinating colors, they look to lost in all the white I think.

These are ribbons I am sewing to a few of my shirts to make them cuter, and you guessed it, express my little girl side.

These are pants my mom was giving away, and I got the idea to put a cuff of fabric on the ends of them, and it turned out so cute, I'll do it on a pair that fits me.

I would have gone with items that have a practical use.  Like a quilt.  Something I would use.


But I know ladies like stuff for pretty- so that is nice as well.


(the shirt is practical)  I would use that.   :-)

In fact my mom has sme jeans that have a bit of wear and tear on the hems from getting scuffed on the ground as you walk, and I originally decided to cuff them with some cute fabric to hide that little bit of damage:)

So  yeah, everything is practical in my book hehehe..

Oh, and yes I quilt too. Or at least I can, and I have made a quilt in the past.

Old jeans make VERY warm quilts for winter, TFTB. You use squares cut from the jeans to make the top like a quilt, then use a thick batting and back it with fleece. Instead of quilting it together, use yarn ties and then finish the edges with a pretty fabric. I did one for a friend living with no heat in Northern California one winter, and it kept her from freezing many nights.

Status: offline 		Wyld, Yup. They do indeed. They also make good purses, and skirts. You rip open the legs to make a skirt opening.

That would be nice, yes it's a shame, And it would of been great fun, I think to go shopping to pick out the material together an hang out while doing the project.

And I suppose you could do these with stuff like Wonder under, it's fusible adhesive that goes on with an iron.

what is cute...tear/cut a few holes in the jeans then wash so the holes fray. Sew a matching patch to the inside of the jeans, allowing the fabric patch to be seen through the hole. This will match the cuffs and really does look cute.

i am funny about the tags and seams when it comes to shirts. I will actually wear sweatshirts inside out if the fleece (or whatever you call it) pills up. I generally wear mens small sized all cotton tee shirts under another shirt if i can get away with it. It is the only way i can tolerate a sweater in the winter. Yes...i know i am strange

Status: offline 		Yeah, I don't like tags either, and tagless t shirts are awesome, my only complaint is that they don't have washing instructions on it, like can this shirt be ironed, dried in the dryer?

I'm all about some crafy things. The blue jean cuffs are super cute.

Status: offline 		I am now wondering if cuffs wouldn't look good on the sleeve ends of my plain white shirt sleeves, and if does, then would it work out since most cotton fabrics like I used are not stretchy and have no give, and cotton sleeves do.

Status: offline 		I think the cuffs on the shirts would be a really cute idea. And it for sure would work using non-stretchy material being sewn to a t-shirt matierial shirt. I've seen em done like that and sometimes even have a collar and stuff sewn in so it looks like two shirts when it's actually one.

One of the main thnigs to watch for sewing non giving material to more stretch material, is make sure to pull the stretchy material out just a bit as you're sewing the non stretchy material on so you don't lose any of the room in the sleeve area. Natually you'll lose a bit of the give by adding on a non stretchy cotton. Hopefully this made sense.
