First of all I'm sick and tired of everybody trying to pick my pocket to get more money. And I think people everywhere feel this way. Secondly, because it's not the same thing; it has to do with political equality and EDF media control. Just curious, did you listen to what the man had to say? He said the slow lanes have all the junk and value added lanes you have to pay extra for them and he said the FCC and the Federal trade commission are not doing their jobs of regulation. And he said at least Bush did not do any harm whereas Obama wants to shut the Internet down to poor people who don't have the money or political influence. The Internet was not created for companies like Google and Verizon to make extra profits it was created for the benefit of everyone. Google itself is a company that benefited from net neutrality. Now that it is a giant it doesn't want any competition from the little guys. There is another argument that could be made about politics. With net neutrality now smaller people have a voice in politics that's equal to the larger corporations or political organizations. And when that neutrality is gone it will be muzzled. The same goes for the big media companies. Now small firms can be on the net equally with them and people can have an equal voice but not if you take away that neutrality. If Obama does nothing people can pay for the Internet because the prices will not go up. This guy is telling us Obama will make us pay more for what we are getting now. There are other search engines than Google: List of search engines - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia General • Ask.com (known as Ask Jeeves in the UK) • Baidu (Chinese, Japanese) • Bing (formerly MSN Search and Live Search) • Cuil • Duck Duck Go • Google • Kosmix • Sogou (Chinese) • Yodao (Chinese) • Yahoo! Search • Yandex (Russian) • Yebol http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_search_engines quote:
ORIGINAL: DarkSteven I will not vote for any politician who wants different speeds for people on the Internet depending on what they pay. Why not? I pay less than for my car than someone who drives a Ferrari. If it is technically possible to provide different solutions, then why not charge different amounts? (RT) – Google’s South Korean headquarters have been raided because of allegations that the internet giant stole private information from the nation’s citizens. What does this have to do with your premise about net neutrality? Google’s CEO Eric Schmidt, a member of the Bilderberg group, has called for a new internet that will have a slow lane for porn and shopping but the value added content is only for those who can pay. Wow. That would kill porn videos if they had to be accessed via dialup speeds. Wayne Madsen adds that the Obama administration wants to shut the internet down to those who cannot pay for it or don’t have enough political influence.... How so? If the Obama administration does nothing, then the Internet will not be available to those who cannot pay for it. Why is doing nothing considered talking a stand? Obama is NOT required to subsidize Internet access for all, although that would be a helluva boon to the porn industry.
