I decided to do some housecleaning.   Well- as I went back in the entries- that are up to 4 years old- I had the "why did I write that"  moment.

Curious if your are up to date on yours.

I clean them up sometimes...In general I don't spend too much time on my journal and only put stuff in there once in a while, so when I feel it is out of date I do delete stuff...but it also can take time sometimes to do so again.

No, I don't clean up my journal entries. I haven't posted a whole lot in it to begin with so my entry count is somewhat on the small side.

Regardless, I see a journal as a tool I use to see how my attitudes, beliefs, or general mindset may have changed over time. Good or bad, whether it was a well-thought out entry or one of those that leaves me cringing (ala, what the fuck was I thinking?), the words I put in a journal entry were good enough at the time to post for the world to see, so they're good enough to stay posted.

Besides, I find it a bit confusing when people have recent journal entries that refer to points or rules in earlier entries, which have been deleted; all of which could be fixed by either not deleting those entries or by reworking the references in those that remain.

I dont have anything profound in my journals...just some snippets of poetry or a quote or 2. That being said, I did edit them to death because it never matched the profile text, or one line would be a much bigger size then the rest, without my even clicking a font choice or size. Im picky with my prose!

I do not edit my journal entries. They are what they are, and they were important enough for me to write them at the time, so I stand by what I wrote. I'm not going to modify history, my journal entries go back for years.

As to Ebony being "virginal," well... I'm experienced in this department, and if you decide to take the leap, I volunteer to mentor you through the process... and I promise to be gentle, especially for your first time.

Pssst, Red:

Ever since you changed your picture, whenever you post I have to stop and look at it for a few seconds before I read what you've written.

Just sayin'.

Hunky: I delete stuff when it becomes out of date, because most of the entries are addenda to my profile text, which tends to change.

I clean them up regularly, lots of my entries are just "this is happening" stuff to pimp local events, and they go when they are out of date. Other stuff, too, it's not like I put anything profound out there.

Truthfully, I stopped using My journal here after I discovered someone that I had blocked had subscribed to it.

I was abit surprised on another site- just how dated my blogs were.  I deleted most of them.

I erase some things because I decided it was not appropriate to keep them there

I have left many old journal entries that were written for my last dom. I am sentimental like that, and that was a part of my life I do not feel the need to erase. I don't read over them anymore, I don't think of them much to be honest, but I see no reason to delete them either
